Hey there TE fam, my partner has been a Manual tester for 8 years plus and trying to look for more job opportunities in another domain because there aren't much opportunities around manual testing lately. Does have some experience on Automation but not much into programming like Java etc.

I was suggesting to learn SAP testing by going through trainings under SAP FICO as the domain experience so far was banking and finance projects. Is this advisable?
If yes, how are the job opportunities on the same ?

Can someone please Suggest a better route or career path for a manual tester with 8+ years experience ?

I would say that get into automation testing and performance testing using modern frameworks based on modern languages like Python.
One, it will be step up from the manual testing and second, python will open up multiple other tracks like backend or ML/AI.

Lastly if want to continue in testing field then also start picking up security testing. Manual, automated, performance, security is nice multifaceted skill to have.

Not sure about SAP, so not commenting on it.

Isn't automation done with RPA tools these days, for eg., Automation Anywhere, MS Power Automate, Blueprism, etc.?
Yes I was suggesting some Automation tools but learning Java was the prerequisite

Security Testing and Python is a good approach but I was planning to get her out of Automation field with some fresh start to diversify her career progress and keeping the Testing experience relevant .
