It is confirmed with original account holder that his ID is compromised on TE.For his sake I hope so. I think we'll be able to know if you cross-check his past posts or the way he writes.

Definitely. Also couldn't get the tip you mentioned, do you mean the item should be placed on the same place/area on each image with the user id paper?I understand that. I'm just saying we shouldn't fall for the "obvious" ones even if we are desperate else it's only going to negatively affect us, that is not worth at all. He could at least have had the user id on paper up. That was a dumb way to scam someone (if it was a scam). If someone doesn't or can't then it's a major red flag though it can be bypassed easily ("if you want to catch a criminal then think like a criminal"). Also another tip, the background/surface on which the item being sold is placed should be the same. I fell for a similar trick a long time ago and have since learned from it.
That's reassuring. Glad no one got duped. It is confirmed with original account holder that his ID is compromised on TE.
Seems like I was his only Bakra, yes.He did comment 'SOLD' was he just holding for @xkcd0137 or did someone actually pay?
The most important aspect in all this drama is that the said 'Seller' was a very old member with very assuring 14 positive feedbacks. (Mind you, I am a 0 feedback account, so I would doubt myself twice before doubting him, haha)Honestly with 6k+ posts I thought he was legit but his communication in that thread did not match up. But when buyers are rushing to PM the guy before others, it's very possible to miss all this. @xkcd0137 dodged a bullet
Edit: Feels like I'll give up on getting a used GPU and better get a new one when it becomes affordable. Phew! What a roller coaster today was.
Yes. For smaller portable items especially, the background should be the same. If different images are used and photos taken by different people, even with the user id on paper, then the background will (should) be different. I realized this only later. For example one image was taken by placing the item on a bed sheet and another one on a table. That should be a potential red flag. Even with the id on a paper. This is assuming the seller doesn't want to prove by video calling (which is usually one of the safest option imo) and not a mere video and showing you the item.Definitely. I waited since Nov 2020 and got it today. All the best!Edit: Feels like I'll give up on getting a used GPU and better get a new one when it becomes affordable. Phew! What a roller coaster today was.

Don't lose hope man, just keep trying till you get it. Have you tried WTB on reddit/facebook groups?Edit: Feels like I'll give up on getting a used GPU and better get a new one when it becomes affordable. Phew! What a roller coaster today was.
Reddit/Facebook groups are even less reliable with no feedback system. Though there a few good deals there but I don't have the confidence to go through them.Don't lose hope man, just keep trying till you get it. Have you tried WTB on reddit/facebook groups?
Some bigger facebook groups have something called Admin Method where your payment is held by the admin till you get the product and check it, you can also make vouch posts before confirming the purchase by looking at how many people vouch for the guy in the comments. Reddit however is tricky, so understand the hesitation.Reddit/Facebook groups are even less reliable with no feedback system. Cutting down on resellers :-I posted a sales thread a few hours ago, it was under moderation for a while but has now disappeared altogether. I followed all the rules, posted plenty of pictures, any mods care to explain please?
Very well then.Cutting down on resellers :-
Market Section - Product Pricing n Discussions
There were few resellers and were reported and got banned while there are few more resellers still around.Boss, there is nothing wrong with resellers. Keep it authentic and clear. One or 2 bad fish makes the whole pond dirty.techenclave.com
Wait. How do we define resellers now in this case? I would like some clarity.Cutting down on resellers :-
12 threads in front page of FS section by one member lol. Mods please do the needful. @puns @vyral_143
That's not a logical solution for a "community" forum let alone a tech one. And no one suggested a ban.Do what ban the member ? Best option for you is to ignore block the member once done u will not see any of his post or threads or ignore the sub forum like market place.
