Market Section - Product Pricing n Discussions [NO Price checks]

No sorry by mistake mobile auto detection. Will edit straight away.

And also any further doubts and clarification please use the PM route. Lets keep the thread clean. Thank You,

Personally, I consider them senile and out of touch with reality.

How else would you explain selling a ten year old combo for more money than a current i3 setup that outclasses it in every way?

It shouldn't have to be said, but I've been asked privately about so I'm also sharing here — that combo is barely worth half of the asking price, and only if you have some kind of sentimental attachment to it.

Practically, the cheapest Intel system purchased new today is far more performant: A dual-core Pentium G7400 at stock speeds outperforms that quad-core 2600K, even when heavily overclocked.

  • TE doesn't allow price discussion in sale threads - leads to less knowledgeable folk taking the bait, thinking it's a good deal
  • TE has free advertising for sale threads in the form of bumps
Combine both and you have a market that favours sellers who are so out of touch with reality that they ask ridiculous prices and bump the thread for all eternity.

And has 3 year warranty! Plus no risk while shipping: stores cover that when buying new items.

I'm almost tempted to post satirical sales thread just to have fun lol

PS5 Disc Edition Purchased in November 2023. Excellent condition with original Box and all accessories. 44K
With Flipkart prices routinely dipping below 45k and occasionally going to 38-39k, it's unlikely that someone will buy a used piece at this price.

The following screenshot is from last night. It was available under 39k if you were prepared for it.

This should be stopped as well or notified to seller in sale thread..to reduce pricing and/or check the same product with actual market pricing

Thanks. Had a local offer for 39k and I thought I was getting ripped off. Might as well sell it to that guy.

Isnt a price check as to what to buy something for?

Apparently not so here, it's for asking for the current market value of an item you'd like to dispose of.

Kinda on topic, what do you think I should set my PS5 digital price to? Oct 2022 bought. Not much used. Console works fine but controller is pretty much gone, right stick has drift.

CEX is a good reference point:

Their selling price minus the cost of a new controller is what I'd do.

It can be both. Not sure if you saw but there used to be a dedicated price check thread here for people wanting to know how much they could sell their stuff for. It was shut down for some reason and this thread has that same restriction, which is the reason for my post above.
I think it's mostly because that thread led to a lot of DM deals without going through the market section, which led to bypassing market restrictions and rules and some scamming. Not sure on that though.

In my opinion it's really a stupid decision to let newbies (leave alone people with 0 posts) access market section. This will create a lot of headache if someone does pay a small fees initially for patron and then pull a big fraud on someone. There is no easy way to know someone's intent.

I thought the reputation score means "Who will go first in the deal ?" If seller rep is lower than buyer, seller has to ship first and then buyer would pay. But what I usually see is buyer pays first. How does the system work ?
