Car & Bike Maruti launches new hatchback Ritz

Indo-Japanese carmaker Maruti Suzuki Friday rolled out another hatchback Ritz from its stable, priced at between Rs 3,90,000 and Rs 4,80,000 for the petrol version.

The diesel variant of the car will cost between Rs 4, 65,000 and Rs 4,99,000 in the national capital, top officials of the company said here.

Ritz - which is a variant of Suzuki's European car Splash - will be available with two different engine options: a new 1.2-litre, four-cylinder 85 PS petrol version, and the group's successful 1.3-litre, 16-valve DDiS, 75 PS diesel engine.

"The Ritz combines modern European design, the sportiness of the Swift, the latest in engine technology and Suzuki's globally acclaimed expertise in compact cars," said the company that claims a 58 percent market share in the compact car segment.

The car will be available in five variants, three with petrol engines - LXi, VXi and ZXi and two with diesel engines - LDi and VDi.

most sales are hatchbacks.......a company is not foolish to have so many of them :P.......
 
Pricing isnt too bad for the petrol version, 15-20k less than the swift. Diesel is like 3k cheaper (all ex showroom prices). Have to take a test drive though to compare :D
 
Looks like a cross between a swift and a santro...not a good one IMO. The back looks like something has banged into it.

I think maruti's service is overrated and really not cheap. They have started taking people for granted.

At the same time, other manufacturers should step up and offer competitive service. I don't know why they don't understand this till date...give good service and people will buy a good car anyday.
 
looks like MSIL want to grab all of the small car segment!!

they now have a lot of models from 3-5 lakhs!!

the front bonnet design and the headlights looks more like the i10!!

Actually most people do not use authorized service centers after warranty ceases... At the same time most mechanics are comfortable with working on a Maruti engine 'coz its been here long enough... Even though Maruti uses a new engine its not changed much from initial designs...

Since people get economical service @ every other corner, they prefer Maruti... Its 100% true that Maruti service is pathetic & I'd burnt my fingers with their service.... but still its available through most mechanics....

Also I agree its a cross b/w Santo + Swift + i10 as well... I personally do not like the design & Maruti should think something radical now.. They started good with A-Star concept but ruined it in the on road avatar.... The back looks like it was smashed while reversing & Maruti designers forgot to repair it.... :rofl:
 
Things which i like in the car:

Tallboy design.

Two tone interiors.

Bigger tires.

1.2 more refined petrol engine.

Comes in Diesel.

Nice colors.

Central console.

More boot space.

Things which i don't like in the car:

Back.

Gearshift positioning.

Separate RPM Meter.

ZXi doesn't come with Automatic climate control.

Absense of ZDi as in Swift.

The pricing(Should be replacement of the Wagon-R and not a competitor of Swift.

Comes with lame JK Tornadoes as found in Swift.

Though this is the first of the 2009 hatchbacks we are watching being released. Next to launch is Jazz and GP by Honda and FIAT respectively. Though both would be in direct competition to i20. Also GP would come in both Petrol and Diesel engine. Which would a 1.5FGT unlike the 1.3MJD found in Swift,Palio,Vista and Linea and also 1.5VGT in Getz and Verna.

yeah they have been saying from years that they will launch suv jimny or something similar,vitara is out of the budget for most people

Swift and Swift Dzire BOTH have ZDi variants. Its just not popular as Z is 60-70K more than the V Models. Only some buy it.

So swift vs Ritz.. what's your say?

Swift ZXi, a fun car to drive and massively nice handling at the price. :D :D :D

Stop smoking weed and don't blabber anything which comes to your mind. research and then "POST".

Swift doesn't have a ZDi as of now. And Dzire is a totally different segment. Its a sedan. I have just bought a VDi as there is no ZDi variant by Maruti of Swift. If you still have doubts then visit Maruti Swift

Also if Maruti were to introduce a ZDi for Swift D as it has a ZXi for Swift P for a price difference of 60K then i am sure it would outsell VDi by a huge margin. A ZDi would typically carry:

Alloys

Bigger tires

Stereo with 4 Speakers

Automatic Climate Control

Steering mounted remote

Defogger

Rear wiper

Electronically controlled Ovrm's

ABS and EBD

Airbags(I totally forgot)

And few more small features which i am forgetting

Trust me for 60K more these are more then worth features to go in for in a ZDi as compared to a VDi if there ever would be one.
 
Ok gettin a Ritz petrol Vxi, can some one tell hows the car.. Shud we go for zxi?
Differences as mentioned in brochure-
1 sterio with steering remote
2 abs and air bags
3 alloy wheel
4 mirror and handle are body coloured
5 central locking
6 rear wiper

Not lookin for a non maruti cause 5.5yr old wagon r that we just sold went for 2.35lac.. No other brand would fetch anythin near it..

Now a shop near by says we can get central locking and sterio at 3k and 12k, so no need to go for zxi..
