I am not sure if this qualifies as Market Feedback thread but I just wanted to post this because of an issue with a member here under id @mavihs
Thread in question: http://www.techenclave.com/communit...0gb-24gbssd-8gb-ram-touch-windows-8-1.154318/
I posted this thread on November 12th, got an immediate reply from mavihs saying that he is interested & that i should PM him my number.... which I did.
Received his phone call where he asked about the laptop, and told me that his budget was only 30k but will stretch it if the laptop is in good condition. I told him everything is fine & there are no other issues with the laptop except for the ones i've already mentioned. I also told him I already have a local buyer willing to pay 36k for it, to which he told me he is ready to take the laptop at 36k but it will have to be shipped to Delhi. I told him to find out how much it will cost him to get the laptop via courier service.
On Thursday Night I got a call from him I didn't pickup, sent him a message to get his reply but he call again instead. so i picked it up & he asked me if i was ok shipping him the laptop to him @40k. I said, I will have to find out how much it will cost me for shipping only after which i can confirm.
On Saturday Morning I contacted FedEx & got a quote from them for shipping the laptop & It was good enough and I would be able to afford it with Carrier Risk. I also informed him that i prefer chat / text / email than calling because his call quality was very low and barely audible. I also told him that I will require 100% payment upfront as this is a high valued product, and if he was local i would have agreed that he can first check the laptop & make the payment, but that was not possible here.
I also told him that if he cannot do 100% upfront we can go the eBay route & he will have to bare all the extra charges (7 - 8%)
He called me & asked me to send me my Bank Details which i sent. < This would possibly confirm that he has agreed to my terms.
I sent him a message on Sunday, I provided him more pictures on how it has been packed & ready to ship to him.
On Monday he sent me his address & mentioned that he will call me today to tell me about the payment. When i did not get any calls from him till yesterday evening I sent him a message to ask if there was any update. He told me that he had called but i didn't pickup. I again told him that the best way to get in touch with me was via chat / email. I don't always call. I told him i would call him when i am free.
I called him last night around 10:30pm & this is when he tells me that he will only do 75% payment first & then the remaining after receiving the laptop. I told him i will think about it but I already decided that it was a no. I calculated how much 75% of 40k is & it is exactly 30k the budget he said he has for his laptop the first day he contacted me.
So to me it feels like there is no guarantee that he will even pay the remaining 10k when he gets the laptop or keep on delaying it saying that he does not have the cash with him right now, and if he only wanted to pay the 75% first that should have been told to me from day 1 & avoided this week long conversations wasting my time.
