Mech. Keyboards

I've a K83 Gigabyte keyboard with blue switches. I really like the feel, sound and tactility basically everything of it. I use it for coding and document editing and it really serves the purpose. I also have a Logitech MK520 at my other place which was my previous long term driver. I probably like the K83 better but have to test it one-to-one at one place to know for sure.

i too feel like again going back to better membrane keyboard..
haha thats why I said to look for a keyboard like the Ideapad's. Find one with backlit lighting and you'll be good to go.
I've never used optical ones so I can't comment. from what I understand they seem to be the other version of "mem-chanical" ones.
Oh right @vink try those mem-chanical keyboards locally and see if they do for you. They are "membranes with a mechanical feel."

According to most people, the chinese switches are actually even better compared to their cherry mx counterparts. The idea that cherry mx switches are the golden standard is quite false really.
Just checked meckeys the only gateron mech switch keyboard is from GK company. Is there any reputed brand which makes their keyboards with gaterons?

Actually your budget is a bit low for mechanical keyboards. If you want to get a good quality model then you must increase it, and in these times price is very much inflated. So I think it's better if you just invest behind a cheap membrane keyboard. Trust me, unless you find the perfect switch for you mechs are not even worth it. I wish there was a non-mech keyboard with same durability as per mech keyboards I'll gladly have ditched this painful shite then.

Any hot-swappable keyboard available in India in any place? I've decided to buy the mx speed silver switches. The Duckys or Varmilos using that switch are insanely priced on meckeys.

I don't know how his service works. I asked him for some quotation myself but he quoted a higher rate for a much smaller item than the bigger and multiple one (of the same category) so I dropped out. Send him a PM.

i guess all the tricks are being busted by customs.. on the other hand if we grp buy then actually might price come down..

Ask and let me know. And GC works and the final price is reasonable then I'll join too. I want the C2 backlit model. Only $50 in the US. Dunno what the final price will be though.

Just for the que,

Any wireless option available in India?

Like AA or AAA battery operated?
thats even more niche choice, in india at most wireless mem-chanical kb may be available that too at high cost..

btw keychron k2 k4 looks good. but again prices..
Well importing will attract 40% customs that's what you mean right? I think even after that it's going to be cheaper than exorbitant asking prices at meckeys.
yes customs, any way to reduce it? bulk orders? as for meckeys idn what they smokin.. ...
