Hello

I was doing a management project on this subject and thought would take some help from you all.:S

will list out the details i know.

Memory

30% legal imports only rest hand carriers and non warranty stuff
abt 60% out of this is Hynix finished modules directly or indirectly .In this space major players-Transcend,Kingston-who bring in finished modules,
Simmtronix,TA,Zion,Mercury etc who manufacture in India ..

Other are Samsung ,Micron,Infineon chip based memory which is small.

Totally i read on IDC that we do abt 10.5 Mn PCs last qtr :) so going by that data even considerg that there is upgrade and replacement markets for memory we shdu be atleast at about 250000 modules a month in India alone right?

I would appreciate if everyone adds to this info or points out where i am going wrong..Could make it a brainstorming session which could help better.:hap2:

Thanks in Advance
Rgds

Here doubting Thomas :) - I have 2 of these Micron 128mb modules in my second computer - paid 11,000/- per module :( - bought from Matrix3d - life long warranty bought in 1998 - branded Viking.

EDIT: ... oh yeah I forgot !!.... its ...SDRAM :blushing: ... please note - 9 chips.... its ECC SDRAM !!

chaos its available sometimes thru Zion( 3rd party using either Hynix or Micron) and Celetron in India. available in most of the major metro markets.

OT: If you dont mind then can you share your report with us when you have it done. Reports done for management project are good info I think.
