@Pimpom Did you use a tripod to keep the camera steady at that zoom level
No, it was a casual snapshot. I was chatting with my son, leaning back in a chair on my verandah, just pointed the camera and clicked. I cropped the picture from 5472x3648 pixels to 2000x1800 and posted it here. No Photoshopping or editing in any way. The forum automatically resized it to 1600x1440 and probably reduced the quality a bit in the process.

As with most such casual snapshots, I put the settings dial on P. I've just checked the shot's EXIF file and the semi-auto settings were: ISO 125, aperture 4.0, shutter 1/500. If this had been a serious photo session, I would have used a tripod, manual settings and a self timer set to 2 seconds..

Here's another shot of the same bird taken a few minutes earlier. No sharpening, editing or enhancement in any way. Straight out of the box, just close cropped. I hope this one escapes being resized or modified by the forum software.

I was gifted a Sony RX 100 some years ago and i was too lazy to use it, its still in perfect condition and am still finding it difficult to use it. Phones have gotten so good at photos that am not finding reason to use it. Do you think that the RX100 can still beat modern midrange phones? yeah of course it depends on the person taking and the skill he has but when considering the camera is in auto mode, does it have any chance of beating today's smartphones in terms of sharpness and overall dynamic range
The shots of Peacocks which took in post above were taken with a Sony RX10 which is RX100's big brother, Has much longer lens and lens is made by Zeiss (same as your RX100).

My S25 Ultra I also have is good for close up shots but the max optical zoom it can do is x 5, x 10 digital zoom which not as good. So the Peacocks were far away therefore you need a good quality long lens Camera to take decent pictures.
