when the person comes in front , lemme guesss... the fps drops from 20 to 12 :)

if thats the case then its your cpu man

havent tried prostreet on that so dunno but crysis and ut3 were not playable

nfs carbon was running fine on that rig though

btw, insane clocks there....from the stock 1450mhz shaders all the way up to 1800

no actually i was getting 40+FPS in crysis 1024X768 but when someone comes in front it goes down to 7FPS, even on low settings, guess its time to change the CPU, and the GPU shader clock is linked with core so i increase core shader increases as i allready said that my PSU is limiting me. i can take it up to 900Mhz maybe if ! put on a 120MM fan on the fins

Sorry, got busy so couldn't check.

thanks Neotheone for the Mercury 8600GT suggestion. I might actually go for it.

Since the chips are from nvidia, the only contribution/goof-up mercury can do is connections and cooling. Connections seem fine as Neothene and broar are using it. I don't plan to overclock so cooling does not matter very much. I might even underclock to save power. Normally my intel X3000 is enough for me. Only need a better card for some of my experiments.

Has anybody seen a Mercury 8600GT being sold in Bangalore? My neighbourhood retailer does not stock them. Maybe SP road will.

As new 8600GT is available within 3000, the equation changes a bit. I am looking for the best price/performance/power consumption ratio now. I have about 1-2 weeks to decide. So for used items, approximate equation is :
8600 GT : 2500
7600 GT : 2000

I'll forget about 7600GS and 7300GT then.

Sorry, made the post (no. 42 of the thread) by mistake in the wrong thread. Please delete. I could not figure out if I could delete/edit my post myself.
