Mesh wifi 6 backhaul better than wifi 5?

Read his posts again. He asked that if everything else is the same, will there be a significant difference if dedicated backhaul is 6ax vs 5ac.
Yeah I was talking more about a practical comparison. What he asked can only be checked in a lab.
How about using powerline backhaul? Tplink has some devices? Will it give anywhere near 1gbps link speed?
Why dont you get one, try it and tell all of us. There is no powerline backhaul. You'll have to convert to ethernet at both ends. Powerline itself is used as a last resort.

Missed it completely ...if backhaul is concern then both wifi will give problem as they will share the same frequency for both clients and backhaul.
Otherwise the best option is to get a 3 channel device which uses 1 channel as dedicated backhaul but that will cost a bomb.
If aesthetics doesn't bother much then wired backhaul will be best.
orbi uses 3 channel. so op has to understand what screws up his speed in the first place.- dedicated backhaul channel working on ac or n?
wireless speeds are higher than wired. specifically ax speeds.
however, ax and ac work on the same frequency so it is going to be more or less the same in terms of interference and drop.
wired is better since while lower than wireless dedicated backhaul there is 1gig which is lower than ax backhaul speeds but guaranteed.

hope this helps.

Interference and drops on ax are lesser than ac as ax can also work on 6ghz and two ax ap can have overlapping coverage area.....so interference is almost nil that's why it can also be used in telecom.....but certainly wired is consistent with speed and latency

Hi - not sure if I am hijacking the thread, but posting a related question:

If there are 2 rooms connected via CAT6, is a mesh system still recommended, or it is better to use a main and satellite?
