Audio Mic for recording songs on mobile phone

My cousin has started a youtube channel recently. She happens to be a good singer and her channel is getting some traction. I want to gift her a mic as recording on phone seems to mess up the audio. What would be a good mic for good quality audio recording which connects to her phone? I am not sure of the budget but something in 3-4k range should be ok.

condenser mic (like AT2020 or rode nt1a) is a good option but requires phantom power. Needs an audio interface like i rig pro HD for proper performance on a mobile phone. It costs around 11 to 12k
 
most phone mics are pretty decent - its the compression that screws it up. there are some apps that can pull the uncompressed signal and record - I used to use those for recording some of our practice sessions and they turned out right. I would say play around with different voice recorder apps before spending on hardware

Dolby ON is a great software. I see a great improvement in ambient noise reduction and overall sound quality when I used this to record some of my Ukulele sessions.
@OP: this is a good option to try till the time you can decide on the mic.
 
You can try using other sound apps for recording. If you are still unsatisfied by the audio you can buy basically any cheap lav mic from amazon. Almost all of them are compatible with smartphones and sound better than phone mic.
 
For youtube videos, I would suggest investing in a good microphone.

Rode has some good mics on amazon. You can opt for a lav mic like Rode Lavalier or want to avoid long cable look at Rode Video Mic Me

Am currently using the Mic Me L + dead cat iPhone variant an offers much better quality than the standard mic. However, this is best suited for Vlogging or speech recording.

I have previously used Boya Lavalier which is available under 1k and offers very minor improvements over phone microphones and not something I would recommend to make quality content.

For vocals please use a cheap condenser mic with a pop filter.
Whatever you use, YouTube's ****ed up compressor will make it sound like shit.
You absolutely need a very basic audio interface with phantom power and a very basic computer.
IK multimedia makes rigs to be used with mobile phones, but those set ups costs a lot more.
 
I'd highly suggest buying the Boya BY-M1 from Amazon. It costs under 1K INR and is fantastic. You can use it directly connecting to your phone (3.5 MM) or PC.

I also have a YouTube channel (gaming related) and I use it to do voice overs or commentaries. Do make sure that you have a good room for recording because lavalier or condenser mics can pick up even the slightest of noise.
