Just an interest check for a good Micro ATX motherboards and/or case for HTPC use. I am not a dealer but wondering if some dealer could offer a go for the same.

We have mATX boards. Any preferences ? As in , AMD , Intel , with or without HDMI , onboards solution or standalone graphic card ? :)

lovely. Can you suggest good boards for HTPC (with hdmi+s/pdif output), preferably from Asus & Gigabyte.

I saw couple of EVGA boards in Bangalore but they are no good for HD playback, neither I could find any decent case suited for HTPC.

Ill have to do some research too on my side. I'll PM you or post here once i find something that suits you.

agree, even 8200 is enough, unfortunately I could not find any micro atx boards in local market with hdmi with 780g or other reasonable chipset

I'm surprised, because both me and Zhopudey have the 780G Asus board, which works perfectly well for an HTPC, and has every possible video (and audio) output you may want. look for my short article on the board on these forums.

There are plenty of mATX boards that will do anything you seek. I don;t know about Bangalore though.

That'a a good info Sangram, will you pls share the model number. It's easier to query for model number in local market

I think this needs to move out of hot deals. Asking a mod to move it.

The NSK2480 from Antec is very nice, quiet, with a good supply and very logically laid out. Using it for mine and I'm very happy.

That's an ATX cabinet isn't. Looking for a smaller one which barely fits required components (MB+PS+HD & optional DVD).

Err how much did u buy it for?

I did, unfortunately they are pretty mediocre looking cases which will not go with my living room. Nevermind, I now decided to get J&W minix mini-itx board. I have an old DVD player hopefully it will be a perfect host for minix.

Anyway, many thanks for the help so far!

You still miss the point. The NSK 2480 is a HTPC case, takes one microATX board, two disks of 3.5" and 5.5", and comes with a nice quiet power supply as well. It is specifically built for HTPCs, has two quiet fans and is very easy to cable manage.

Also, it looks like a piece of hifi equipment, with a nice silver/faux aluminum finish to the front.

nsk2480 - Google Search

Can you click the link above and browse a little? Then you can ask more specific questions instead of blindly making assumptions.

Yusuf ,

What Exactly Are You Looking At ,there is a Very Big Posibility That Certian Canibets Still Cannot Contain These Small Beasts And Are built For Atom Only ,Are You Looking For Board So That You Could Put Seperate Processor Or Something Like Atom

No, I don't. It's simply big for the purpose and very mediocre looking. May be I was not clear - please read my previous post, it should 'barely' fit mb+ps+HD and not the spacious one. Something like on this website -> mCubed Online Store

Thanks anyway!

The NSK 2480 is not that big actually. About the size of an Amp or A/V Receiver.

Had a look at the 'HFX mini' on the mCubed site, and apart from the height (shorter by 4cm) its quite close in the other dimensions to the NSK.

The HFX micro of course is much much smaller but its compatible with mini-ITX boards only and has no space internally for the PSU.

Of course the looks are subjective and is entirely upto your taste :)

The other option is thin client PCs by Gigabyte : GIGABYTE - Product - Desktop Platform - Barebone - Products

A member here picked one up, but this was a year or two back.. you'd have to check if these are still available out here.

*But*, the miniITX boards bundled with these are definitely not upto the more demanding requirements of a HTPC rig.
