Microsoft Introducing new offer's for the Xbox360.

n what looks like an attempt to steal the thunder from rival gaming consoles, Microsoft Entertainment & Devices Division has today announced an exciting offer around the Gen-Next Xbox 360.

Under the offer, gamers can exchange 'any' old gaming console in return for a brand new Xbox 360. This - for the price of Rs 15,990, which is much lower than the current market price of Rs 19,990.
The interesting part is gamers stand to get a new Xbox 360 in exchange for just about any old gaming console, whether it is a PSP or PS2 or Nintendo DS and so on.

Further building on the offer, Microsoft has introduced a new price range for its Xbox 360 gaming titles.

For instance, the company said Dead or Alive (DOA 4) would now be available for just Rs 999, and coupled with Forza Motorsport 2 and Gears of War (GoW), for Rs 1,895 only.

Speaking on the occasion, Mohit Anand, Country Manager, Entertainment & Devices Division, Microsoft India, expressed the view that they expect this promotion to further stimulate the gaming boom in the country by giving gamers an attractive price point to get hold of their very own Xbox 360 consoles.

The exchange offer on Xbox 360 is running at Microsoft retailers across the country. It is available for a limited period, which Microsoft refused to comment on.

Sadly the offer is not for the Premium consoles,however on the positive side, it's a really good idea to reduce the prices of gaming titles....
Well this gives me another reason to buy a 360....:D
 
LOL....give a gaming system thats working for last 4years(PS2) & take away that RLOD infected piece.....Nice work M$....really appreciated!!!

Also they are giving away only CORE system...i.e. no Hardisk...Wired Controller...again buy extra Memory cards....if faced with RLOD....wait for the exchange or pay 4k get it repaired....buy 50$ LIVE Gold Service to play online....cant use third party HDD, products, etc...the only POSITIVE thing is that we can Mod it...but that too has been blocked by M$...havent heard the case in INDIA though......or MOD it dont play online...I know hackers will crack that tooo(Already cracked i guess[ixtreme])...Now say if this offer is feasible???

Chill pal,I guess the RLOD problem will be solved with 65nm chips which r expected to be out soon...

Tabtak PS2 to hai naa, or else if u can afford PS3,tab koi tension hi nahi..:)
 
I know...M still enjoyin on my PS2....playin Lara's latest reinvented adventure....Tomb Raider: Anniversary....& again would be waiting for Manhunt2...PS2 still rocks....Also would be again playin GOW1 & 2..it would be my 10th time with GOW1 & 3rd time with GOW2....hehehe...m planning for PS3 this Diwali...my aim to save that much & spend on PS3...lol....
 
Watch as MS gets slammed for false advertising for refusing to exchange the 360 with those cheap 8-bit systems you can get off the street.
 
This is actually a good offer. I just wish they would be more specific about just how old the gaming system can be.
 
saw this advertisement some time ago.
these are the terms and conditions
you can only exhange for xbox,psp and ps2. ofcourse you cant exchange if your console is modded.:bleh:
there is no mention whether the console should be working or not.
they are offering this for the core version. not a good deal i would say. :no:

Seriously good offer though and its great to see them actually do something about the godawfull pricing of games here in India.

And xxx that was one of the most fan boyish retarded post I've read on the Internet. And thats saying something because I spend my whole working day browsing forums (please don't tell my employers :hap5: ).

My post was not Fanboyish dude....I just put forward my point of view, as far as they are concerned(M$) instead of solving the hardware issues they are just promoting sumthin crap....I like 360..they have some amzing games on their console...i personally carry myself to my friends place to play those amazing games every sunday..... but m avoiding it just cos of the RLOD, I dont have that much moolah to spend on repairs...but u cant just avoid the fact....there's always a fear of RLOD on any 360 console....Recently Peter Moore said "dont concentrate on the failure rate, look at how fast is our after sales service". U tell me who in the rite mind wud say that....that means we spend 15k on the console then again spend on repairs & exchange & shipping etc....Although I hope that my friends over here on TE shudnt face the RLOD....& for u M$ please recruit some good Quality testers on your testing team....

Dude i don't understand what you are trying to convey. How brining out an exchange offer is bad for an end consumer. Yes there are problems with the console and yes M$ has admitted it but how in the world is exchange offer in "India" has anything to do with ROD problem which everybody else in the world is facing.

Just one question..

Would you be happy if M$ withdrew this offer in India ?
 
I know I went to overboard with the last post....hehehe....but it was on Heat of the moment....Its just that M$ shud concentrate on improving their hardware instead of cutting into SONY's exhorbitant sales of PS2 in INDIA...If that is reliable I would surely walk into the store today & buy a 360!!!

Also one good step about the offer is the titles are priced lower than usual....atleast we can expect others to lower their prices....
 
The game prices are the killer! Sony you had better follow!

in any case, if you are buying the Xbox 360 officially with warranty, there is no need to worry about the RLOD, since if you get it they have to fix it or replace the console free of cost.

So it does make one heck of deal I'll say. They need to advertise this offer on the TV.
 
of crse i worry abt RLOD , ,, wat abt a year later when its gonna get kaput ... or what abt when it goes kaput and it takes 3 weeks and running around to get it fixed???
