Evaluate the next release of Microsoft Office products for testing and planning purposes with 2007 Microsoft Office system Beta 2. The beta release contains all the functionality of the regular release, but is not the final product.

System Requirements:

Operating system
Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack (SP) 2 or later or Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (or higher) required

Computer and processor
500 megahertz (MHz) processor or higher; 256 megabyte (MB) RAM or higher; DVD drive; 1 gigahertz (GHz) and 512 MB of RAM or higher is required to run Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager

Hard disk
2 gigabyte (GB) necessary for install; a portion of this disk space will be freed after installation if the original download package is removed from the hard drive

Monitor resolution
Minimum 800x600; 1024x768 or higher recommended

Internet connection
Broadband connection, 128 kilobits per second (Kbps) or greater, for download and activation of products

Additional components
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 with service packs, Microsoft Exchange Server 2000 or later required for Outlook 2007 users. To install Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager, you will need to first install Outlook 2007

Yep its a free download. and office 2007 will be relased after vista (hopefully ..if vista doesnt get delayed further)

So what has Microsoft wrought? The company has completely rethought the productivity application user interface. Gone are the menus and toolbars from every previous Office version, replaced with what Microsoft calls a "results-oriented" user interface. That's not just marketing talk, either: The Office 2007 user interface has been designed with precious little effort to conform to the old ways of doing things. It will be simultaneously obvious and confusing, depending on your level of experience with previous Office versions. It is, if I might be so bold, the most innovative user interface work that Microsoft has ever unleashed.

You might wonder why such a dramatic change was required. Consider the first version of Microsoft Word. Word 1.0 contained about 100 commands and was able to provide access to these commands via a very simple menu system and a single toolbar. Almost twenty years later, Word 2003 included more than 1500 commands. And over the years, Office (and with it, Word) had to be retrofitted with a variety of bloated menus, toolbars, and new UI constructs such as task panes and smart tags, just to provide access to all this functionality. The UI is so convoluted, in fact, that the top Office feature requests are features that are already in Office. It's just that users can't find them.

Just tried seems very good at 1st view with a improved GUI and more user friendly functions it's a must try though a little bit resource hungry.
 
This is the beta release of the Office 12.

Its got many versions..and the interface is just awesome!

PS: Please make sure to read the sys requirements! The most primary being you must have genuine XP SP2 with latest patches installed!:P

I loved it! I installed the Office 2007 Professional version..and have not experinced any instability problems!

haven't encountered any bugs or crashes till now

i agree the interface is great and I've discovered many hidden features,
