Home is faster and it still is better. all the softwares which i used on XP pro works on Home till now :rofl: and yeah using P4-HT though hyper threading is supported (2 logical processors) ill use XP pro x64 once i get C2D as multi processor are not supported in XP Home. THanks for trolling Yamraj ;) anyways good replies everyone.

1. Startup time means nothing. Vista boots faster, for example.
2. Even if I believe your 20secs vs 35secs crap, 20x3 isn't 35. Bad schooling!
3. LOL@double-click on My Computer :rofl: That's more because of drive polling or corruption.
4. You continue spitting statements without any backing. Sure, DOS is better than everything.
5. Multiprocessor means "multi processor". Hence, even if the Home Edition isn't designed for performance computing, it still supports dual-"core" systems.

7. Only more trolling instead of proofs. If you don't have any benchmarks, why do you keep posting that Home edition is "better and faster"?

You actually measured the opening time of 10ms, didn't you? FYI, a "microsecond" is one millionth of a second.

And, don't opt for personal flaming. I've been reading a few posts of yours in the the "Mobile Phones" section too, and it seems like you have a passion for posting very biased and false statements, more often than not. It's not very usual of me to pick on some for their misdeeds, but if you want to be taken seriously - you have to act like one.

perform benchies on YOUR OWN system...with / without the same software installed & then post here...:)

from my experience home is not gonna be a better choice over pro..
 
Well, Nvidiabeast, im not taking any sides here but your points like boot up time has decreased from 35 to 20 or how fast My computer opens up are not valid reasons to substantiate your point that Home edition is 3X faster then Pro.

So benchies are the best way to go here!:)
 
THE PROB WITH YAMRAJ IS THAT HE DOESNT LIKE OTHERS HAVING MORE KNOWLEDGE THEN HIM.. SO HE KEEP POSTING NEGATIVE

as i was screaming ill post the benchis once i install pro in other partition.
@ Yamraj u dont have any mobile knowledge also and so u thought i was faking.. lol ive opened up ngage qd and studies every thing from graphics chip/memory chips/ vibrators etc.. dont u dare challenge me for mobiles & computers.. you are on the learning road. im not here to argue as i said before
and so dogs keep on barking no matter how much ever we try to stop them so Yamraj i expect some more bad talks. keep writing :rofl:

Just ignore his posts. Almost all of them makes me question his intelligence. Its time for the mods to put some sense into this guy.

If some ppl here are smart and to show off their smartness like RiO having 2 installs of XP (home & pro) why is he not posting benches then?? no help and just an argument spoiling Tech enclaves reputation! Pls Admin/Mods. kindly do something. i have a problem and i have my questions unanswered still and i myself got the answer that home edition is faster then pro cause of less services running. members here are best for arguments and showwing of wannabe rather then helping ppl. it is YOU who is trying to make a record that Home edition of windows is faster in your PC than the Pro version....which according to majority of us is false....so speakin with majority count...it is YOU who has to provide the proof...:bleh:
 
ROFLCOPTER, damn I missed TE and especially this thread... I'm not even going to get entangled in the messy debate, but let me clear up some confusion without appearing egotistic :rofl:

1. Boot times completely depend on services you are running at startup - Pro obviously has more system services therefore it could take *a few seconds more* to boot up (default). However, if you disable some of those additional services, there is no difference.

2. Boot times are also dependent on programs in your startup - I only run the AV, network connection and nvidia cp at startup in both installations and boot times are very close to each other. Keep in mind I have tweaked startup services on my Pro installation because it's primarily a benching drive.

3. I'm a smartass and I'm not benching only because of that lol... but seriously, I'm busy and can't post benches yet, but as soon as I get my PC under water I will run these comparison benches on fresh installations of XP Home and Pro. Till then, wait. The world isn't going to end so wtf is the hurry???

4. Chill out and stop picking petty quarrels with people who don't agree with you or disprove your theories - if you make a statement here, be ready to back it up with data. XP Home is not 3x faster than Pro, and Pro is not 3x faster than Home... face it, that's a fact :)
 
lol. i have xp home installed here and it crawls. 3 month old install. xp pro was also the same after 3 months. both of them are slow pieces of crap.
 
I get the feeling that this guy is just trying to grab some attention. Just look at the above post. He says that he has found the answer. I guess he expects us to ask him now what it is and then the cycle starts all over again. LOL
