Migrating Wordpress to Blogger! Suggestions required.

Hi,
I am in process of migrating Gaurish Sharma Live from blogger to wordpress.
*For Theme i am thinking of choosing this. not final yet so open to suggestions

*Which moving i want to preserver backlinks, as URL structure of wordpress is different from blogger. example
Old url on blogger
Code:

how do i handle broken links
 
Import it and make a sql file as it works in wordpress check blogger i am a wordpress user so have done this when i was shifting to new host...
 
To import your blogger blog into wordpress, go to tools -> import in your wordpress blog. Then authorize it to access your blogger account. Then simply import :)

And as for the permalink, I think that is the default structure for wordpress, so you shouldn't have problems.
 
Thanks importing done!

Now all blog posts & comments are saved in mysql DB.

I wanted to preserve backlinks.

various places are linking to my site, if i migrate to wordpress. those would be broken and visitor would get a 404 error:(

Also its bad for SEO

so any way to tell wordpress to use same old blogger URLs?
 
Theres a plugin for searching broken links on your blog, check that,

Then theres another plugin for 404 page, it wil display the page nearest to the search/ title/ address terms.

that should solve most of the problem..

Migrate ASAP, wordpress is wayyy too robust..

I recently migrated a blog from Blogger to Wordpress and I think the following will help you:

1. To maintain the blogger permalink structure in Wordpress you need to use a custom permalink structure. Use this - /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%.html

2. Download this awesome plugin called "Maintain Blogger Permalinks" - Maintain permalinks moving from Blogger to WordPress - Justinsomnia

3. Suppose your posts had links to the permlinks of your other posts on your blogger blog, you would need to rewrite them in the SQL database by doing a find replace of the old blog address to the new blogg address.

4. After migrating your blog and fixing the permalinks, you would need to redirect visitors and SE crawlers from blogger to the new WP blog. Actually Wordpress is very good Blogging platform. I've been using it since about 3 years. I have very good experience with Wordpress and custom plugins..

*How do i migrate my existing feeds to wordpress?

I was using feedburner for that purpose, and want to stay with it.

so i want to deactivate wordpress feeds.

I have already installed feedsmith plugin as told my google here.

But when i make a post, it does not appear in feeds:|

you can see yourself the below post is missing from my feed achieve

Okay, i fixed the feed but now blog does not open:|

www.sitename.com does not resolve, but sitename.com does!

now the problem is wordpress is configured to use www.sitename.com, even if i type sitename.com, it sends me to Gaurish Sharma Live.

Dude!!! you've yourself written a guide for this problem!!!:P

Remember the google apps guide??

Add a cname entry and redirect the address..!!!

And please choose a better theme:P
