Huge, enormous, Gigantic, Large-words that never seem to surprise us.In the world where good mouse are being bought, its equally important to buy a good mouse pad, especially for gamers. People spend a lot for mx518, g15, etc. but use it on a book or on a laminated furniture. As the experience might good, little do these newbies (and some experienced) seem to realize that they are spoiling the life of the mouse by literally “screwing up†the base. Any good gamer will take a mousepad, some unbranded are good, and some in branded as well. Feel of the mouse, control and other plays a good not only for the player but for the mouse as well. One of them is a recent mat called razer goliathus-control and speed edition. Right now I got the control edition and since I am a high sensivity player, this is awesome.

About Goliathus control edition- the packaging.

Lot of stuff written on it but it does the job.

The mat stays properly on the cover, enough said. I wished they given a cloth wrap for the mats inside and a good brush. Not a con, but this will be a nice add-on. Mouse pads with textured weave do have a habit of collecting dust.

This is where the control edition shines. The base and the top of the mouse bad are indeed heavily textured. Control edition creates friction. As a high sensitivity player, this is freaking awesome. Unfortunatly, this is how the edge of all the four sides look like.

Heh the picture shows the ugly part of the mat, but its not exactly how it looks like in the real world. I wished that they made an effort to make a better border. Looks like as if someone used their phaser pistols (think of star trek) to cut this.

Final verdict:

It’s a good mousepad. Good base, I mouse this with my and doesn’t move much, so if your playing a game the mat wont move. Size is not a con since it has 3 sizes, and I chose the overlarge ones. The overlarge control edition costs Rs. 1,000/- which is really good- considering the alternates and the size. Premium product? Yes. Worth the money? Yes. Any performance boost while gaming….no. This gives a good grip and better control for the mouse. There will be changes, but don’t expect to get precise headshots while moving around like an enraged monkey who got a headcrab on his tail, same applies for the mouse. It’s the rider, not the ride that counts- It gets a 4 out of 5.

nice crisp review :hap2:

Can you add a few more pics of the pad? Cant really get an idea of how big it is..

Where did you pick it up from? Any idea how much the other sizes cost?

heh well...it got nothing more to be written about. If someone can lend their mousepads for couple of days I can make a comparison review
