Well, first of all, I now do not support Mr. Raj. Please pay attention to the word 'now'. Earlier I used to, but now I don't. After seeing the carnage and destruction MNS has caused, I have started loathing them. I truly believe that when a person dies, he doesn't belong to a religion/cast/country, a human being perishes. Someone's brother, someone's son, someone's brother dies. When I imagine the grief the family/friends will suffer, my heart weeps.
But do you know why this started? Yes you know - it started with the railway board exams. And I am sure all of you are aware of the fact that the ADs for this exam were not published in a single Marathi newspaper. Why did this happen? When a same incident had happened earlier in 2003, shouldn't the railway board have been more careful? Or was this done on purpose? If it was, isn't that wrong? Wasn't the board denying opportunities to local Marathi youth?
I am surprised that nobody from you mentioned this fact in any of your posts. Doesn't this prove that you are extremists like him - people who just want to bash someone and who refuse to look at both sides of the coin?
So, what is my stance?
Do I support Mr. Raj Thakre and his method? - NO.
Do I support his cause - Yes. The influx of migrants in Maharashtra is creating many problems and should stop.
Your comments are welcome. And I truly hope you understand my POV and comment sensibly. Just posting some comments like 'OMG, we have ppl like this on TE too...' doesn't make any sense, does it?

As someone that had to undergo racism in the UK & the middle east its not very pleasant to see the same happening here. At least abroad i was a foreigner and looked different. But here we are more inventive.
All i have to say is watch Thackeray's case closely and if you don't see justice then do your best to complain about it. Ultimately that's the only thing there is.
It's not a good precedent if one can instigate destruction to life & property and get away with it. But i bet you will remind me that far worse has already been commited and yet the ringleader is free. To which i would say it does not diminish this case one bit.
It's not a good idea that the MNS be disbanded, or banned, that will only push them underground where it will cost even more to effectively deal with them.
When are the local elections coming up ?
How will the marathi 'manoos' vote ?
There is another question i have that is directed to ppl that can remember what happened in Uncle Thackeray's time. How did the state deal with him ?
Is this just a case of deja-vu or something different ?

3. As for printing ads in regional papers, I dont think we should be blaming the people of UP if the language they speak natively is the one used by the central govt as well. AFAIK every govt. recruitment ad is published in the Employment News/Rojgar Samachar and every youth looking for a govt job gets a copy of this Employement News. The RRB mumbai ad which is in question was published too in the Employement News weekly. How can you say that the Marathi candidates were not informed because the ad was not published in the local news paper? Are they not aware of Employment News weekly?
And MNS propaganda was not againts the adverteasement. It was against the "inadequate representation of Marathi candidates in the exam". These are the MNS leader Shishir Shinde's words.
" What is wrong if activists were protesting against the 'inadequate representation' of Marathi candidates in the exam? Railway officer should understand the meaning of our protest and allow more Marathi candidates for the examination than the outsiders."
Defending the attacks, MNS spokesperson Nitin Sardesai said: “It’s been happening for years now and the locals have not been getting jobs adequately in the Railways. When there are enough people, both skilled and unskilled, who could be employed, why call people from other states.â€
One more thing. AFAIK if a candidate is eligible then s/he can appear in the examination. Who is stoping Maratha candidates from appearing in examination? Candidates from UP and Bihar? RRB Mumbai? Lalu Prasad Yadav? Does MNS want only Marathis in the examination?

Ad's should have been given i agree, its the fault of the railway administration, but killing people giving the exam? killing people who are in the same situation as you? jobless and helpless??
There's nothing that can justify such action..
Its the one chance at fame for these politicians..
When they could attack during the exam, couldnt they have taken the iniative and informed the people abt it? or is every maharashtrian illiterate? Certainly not!! there are good liot of maharashtrians i know that are very well educated and have done a lot for their community..
If they had to take offensive action, they should ahve hit the officers..WHY hurt the candidates? SIMPLE ANSWER:- VOTES..
There's no other incentive behind this action..If this matter would have been take to court, the court would hav straight forward forfeited the exam..
But yet again the reason behind the attack was not the welfare of maharashtrians, but for personal vote bank politics..

Was there no maharashtrian who knew abt the exam..? RAj say there was not "adequate representation" so there were some marathi guys, then why did they not spread the word?? Cause they thought they had a better chance of passing with less people giving the exam..

Its easy to point fingers...And the only reason to do that is cause you're to lazy to find out even if some exam is hapening..if thats the case what work would such guys have done?
And if raj knew abt the exam and was concerned he should have published ads..they have a marathi daily of their own..why not? Cause there werent any votes to gain..simple..

I am not a Marathi.
I feel Mr. Raj Thakre is making few very very valid points - I told 'few'.
But, as a politician, his execution tactics failed miserably.
He must have done more studies on topic he is tampering and found its implication on common man ...
He must have taken an huge consensus from not only Marathis, but other non hindi speaking ...
He must have learned to new laws of regional politics, the way TN people did last week ...
Because of his flawed political tactics, he failed miserably, together with his ideologies and interest which may have been better utilised...
