My landlines are dead and I am using my mom's mobile.

And no messages are going through, no calls are going through, nothing.

What the heck is this ??

Is it because the networks are jammed because people are sending idiotic mushy crappy messages today because they will be charged tomorrow ?? :@ :@ :@ Damn morons. I have more important things to talk abt that stupid mushy messages and the damn networks are jammed.

Hutch, Airtel, Spice..... all are bloody jammed.

I have another theory which is a bit far fetched :P

Maybe the mobile companies are jamming this on purpose so people cant message and they have to message on 14th Feb and they get charged.....

Maybe it isnt so far fetched afterall.....:| :|

And for some time my internet was also not working.

It felt like some sort of third rate Doomsday movie :P

Rofl, welcome to our brand new commercialised India where everybody has excess money to waste...

Its only the service companies that are partying lol :P

d-uh...thanks to the new commercialized India that we have excess money to waste....today

not too long ago, we used to wait for hours to place a trunk call to a town less than 200 kms away....or even after the advent of long distance (?) direct calls, we used to pay more for a 500km call than an international call costs now

psst...who remembers the days of 2 sec. a pulse STD call not too long back in the mid 90s compared to a 7/- a minute international call today

me me me.. lol.. i guess only the 'veterans' know of the good old days.. hehe

hehe....it became normal after a couple of hours.....

Dont know how the network is now.... :P

@Eddy --- Very funny :@

No, but most of the mobile networks charge SMSs one some days..... New Years, Valetine's Day, Diwali, Independence Day, etc....

So, no free messages for most mobile users on 14th Feb :P

For those of us who have free messaging on normal days, we get charged on events like today. A move by cellphone networks to ease congestion and also make a quick buck .

Call rates though AFAIK remain the same.

Edit: Nikhil beat me to it :P

I dont think people would be messaging lots of girlfriends... Load will not be like independence day, friendship day when people actually sms to all the numbers in their phone book..

And i dont think a person will save few bucks when he will be lighter by some K's when he comes back home...

My reliance phone has always worked, even on new years night etc., "rush periods".

I think this problem is more with Airtel/Spice/Hutch etc.,
