So in the wake of MNP, this thread is dedicated to any data plan discussion folks have.

To start with who offers the best 3G plans in Mumbai? MTNL is not an option due to a poor coverage area. How is Airtel and Tata Docomo?
 
i am on 'combo 249' plan of idea postpaid in delhi. for rs 249+taxes it gives me 400 local/national min, 400 sms local/national,

free cli, 1 GB data download free.

call pulse is 60 sec with local call idea to idea @ 30p, to other mobile @ 40p and fixed line @ 50p. std is 50p anywhere in india.
 
Tata docomo is not on 3g in mumbai.
So you need to consider airtel or vodafone when they launch their services.
I do not think they would be cheap because they have already paid enough to the govt for the licenses.
If at all LTE is launched which will be an all data platform we might see some good affordable plans coming out.
 
Airtel offers 2GB for Rs. 98, Vodafone/Videocon offer the same for Rs. 95. I know the Airtel one works with Androids, but has anyone tried the Vodafone/Videocon ones?

I've been using Vodafone for BlackBerry and Loop Mobile as my original normal phone for a while now. Now I'm planning to switch - I'll mostly swap out Vodafone for Tata Docomo (for the same 399 BlackBerry plan) and Loop Mobile for either Airtel or Videocon, depending on the data plans. I don't need any calling/SMS benefits on the second number. I just want cheap data.

What do you guys suggest?
 
^^That is not an official plan. So can't really expect people to switch to Reliance for something which we are not sure how long it would work! IMO, if you are looking for 3G, MTNL Jadoo is your best bet, but if you don't want to take chances with MTNL's network coverage, you would be better off sticking to Edge on Idea!
 
Im hoping for some good data plans in Pune myself, internet everywhere on a slick phone would be pretty cool. Once I see a good data plan (2gb for 99 sounds good !!) with good service to back it up ill be getting one of em android phones.
 
Is the Vodafone 2GB Data Plan - 95? I paid 111 to get it activated on my phone a few days back ....
