3 mobiles purchased 2 remaining..
Now purchasing 1 for sister...

A: any.

6. What is your intended use for this phone (internet, camera, multimedia, mails etc.)?

A: Dual 5G++ VoNR
Or eSIM
any

Never bargained at OnePlus or samsung store.
Already bargained earlier for different applicances at Reliance digital, croma, Vijay sales etc.

9. Any other requirements?
A: camera and performance.
Highest variant 512gb Or atleast 256gb

10. If you have already considered a phone, then please mention the model
A:
OnePlus 12 16+512 - white
OnePlus 12 12+256 - white
S23 256 - cream, lavender, green
Moto edge 50 ultra
Vivo v40 pro
Vivo X100
Xiaomi 14
Moto edge 50 pro 12+256 - moonlight, vanilla

S22 Ultra has Exynos SoC. OnePlus 12's have SD8 Gen2 and above. S23 has SD8 Gen 2.

Camera is mainly hardware based and all OnePlus ever does is do a software update to "improve" the camera when they are below expectations. If there are alternatives to OnePlus in certain budget then I will never go for OnePlus.
OP12 has SD 8 gen 3 not 2. S23 has 8 gen 2. Only s24 ultra in india has 8gen3 from samsung.

And oneplus skin is still smoother than samsung one ui. The animations, opening/closing of apps. You need to use both to experience it. There was a animation engine update recently, after that it's one of the smoothest android phone.

Agreed that It gets defeated on the camera front. But it has 6x zoom instead of 3x by s23.

Don't buy One Plus and Moto phones for "camera."
Stick to Samsung S series or Xiaomi Ultra's.
Or get the Nothing 2.

S23 256 costs 43k on Flipkart.
As for the battery comparison:

sister is fan oneplus mobile.
but again there are green line issues and now mobo dead after updates as reported on oneplus community.

She wanted a device with top camera and overall allrounder.
Before sale I suggested to buy s23 instead for natural photo. and compromise on battery take powerbank with you. (now pocketsized powerbanks also available.)
Also suggested S23+, but... no discount.

S23 was above 40k (selling price) not a good deal.
She wanted s23 256GB below 40K + bank discounts.
OP 12 is actually not that bad, getting a lot of hate in this thread. I moved from s22 ultra to OP12 and the pefromance, battery, smoothness is actually better than S22U. Oxygen OS animations are much much smoother than One UI.

The only area where i feel it gets beaten is camera but again its not that bad, probably 80% of what samsung s23 can do but you get a btter performing, battery phone so depends on the preferences.

As for green lines, i wouldn't recommend any Oneplus phone other than 12, yet to see any reports of OP12 getting green lines. Its actually one of the most VFM phones out there.
3 oneplus 12 have green line issues reported as per oneplus community.
motherboard dead issue numbers are unknown.

BTW your classified thread link for OP 12 is not found.
check and send message again.
+1 Samsung fab made chips are better to be avoided, be it Exynos or Tensor or Snapdragon chips like 8 Gen 1/888.

Also, Oxygen OS is just Oppo's Color OS now, has been for years. Old Oxygen OS is long dead.
Funtouch OS is same or different? compared old or new oxygen os.
and what about realme mobile OS?
I too in the market for a Phone in <40K budget and considering Pixel 8 (~35K on FK) assuming good camera. Am I missing anything as I don't see recommendations for it?
netwrok issue while traveling
heating issue you will need ac room in summer.

she decided to go with vivo.. (not confirmed yet)
as in village area most people using it without any issues, V series, pro series and old vivo (5-6 years old) too. without any repair.
camera is always given 1st priority mostly in village area. ANd when they don't like camera of newly purchased phone after a while they change phone quickly,

Oneplus 12 is a great phone for your requirements. As for the Green line issues, You will be covered by warranty anyway if it was to happen. If you are still doubtful, maybe opt for Oneplus Screen protection plan or Extended warranty. Samsung S23 is also a Solid option if you want a smooth hassle free experience always associated with Samsung phones. The screen is a bit small in size and battery life is also not that great.
