hey guys,

Is there anyway i can find out the compatibility of My GPU with my
MOBO???

My mobo is ASUS M2N-MX....
My processor : AMD athlon 64*2 dual core 2700mhz 4400+
My GPU is XFX 8800GT 512MB XXX ...SLI

Sometimes a question of this sort has arised, tot might as well ask the techiees here.... :P LOLOL

Thanks a ton

Cant get u as wat exactly u want to know :S

If ur GPU is working fine then it shud be compatible .

I apologize if i didnt make myself clear ....

My GPU being an SLI based i wanted to know whether my MOBO was a perfect macth for it or not.Keeping my Processor in check.... that all.

Sry for the confusion.

Again Ur not so clear.... :cool2:

you can run this G-Card on your mother board with no worry...

Nextly forget about SLI thing.... your M/B is not SLI capable...

LOL G-card  sounds like G-sp.t

Anyway M2n-mx has 16x PCI-E slot...so an 8800GT should work fine on it. Just make sure u use a good branded PSU with at least 25A on 12V rails :)

Oh, i see ....
My PSU : 550W GlacialPower GP-PS550BP with 25V along with 12 rails.
So thats sufficient for my hardware....:)

Lastly, As my MOBO Asus M2N-MX is no-SLI capable...though has a PCI-E slot, so 8800GT will work along.

Any suggestion to which is a recommendable SLI - MOBO that has a AMD Socket, supports AMD athlom 64*2 Dual core...and 8800GT????

Thanks a ton

Thats a good board, M2N-E SLI Deluxe is even better.

I think you have some confusion regarding this SLI thing. Many motherboards are not SLI capable (like the one you have) but all Nvidia gpu's starting from 6600 onwards are SLI capable. The minimum requiremnet for a motherboard to be able to support these cards is that they should have PCIE slots. As long as the motherboard has a PCIE slot it can run the SLI capable gpu's even if it is not SLI capable itself.

Hmmm......

So tangetray-- you saying if i have an SLI capable MOBO... my 8800GT 512 will work much better than the one which i have rite now??????

Along Asus M2N-E SLI Mobo... i 've come across another one tht's ...
GigaByte GA-M57SLI-S4 (rev. 1.0) Motherboard....
the reviews are good, but have read it on international community... i dunno wht out techies here have to say abt it....
wht's your opinion have you or anyone else have come across this one "GigaByte GA-M57SLI-S4 (rev. 1.0) Motherboard"..

Thanks a ton.

well if your mobo is SLI capable....it does not mean your 8800 GT will work better on it....it means if you get another 8800 gt...you can run both in SLI (scalable link interface )....which basically means combined power of 2 gfx cards..... when you are running a SLI mobo with a single 8800 gt....nothing will matter....:bleh:
