IGP wont make a difference ..be it 1GB or 10GB.

a dedicated gpu can extract a lot more juice.

get a basic standard board and invest in a better gpu if gaming is what you are looking for..that is..without spending alot..

even if there is any board with 1 GB IGP, it wont do you any good either. As No IGP is power full enough to utilize more than 128-256 MB properly, leave alone 1 GB. You will be better off with a Dedicated GPU. But first state your intended usage of the system !!

AFAIK some of MSI's 785 boards have 1GB of GDDR3 to go with the HD4200. Don't expect sideport memory, or any amount of video RAM to make much of a performance difference with even relatively powerful IGP like the HD 4200s.

its not 1GB but 1Gb (=128MB); its just market gimmick.

Don't fall for the "more GB is better" marketing gimmick, focus on the core of the GPU instead.

My Nvidia 7025 is having 512 MB graphics memory, as shown in Dxdiag. Dont know which IGP has 1 GB.

@shaplus, I don't know if you still think of a GPU's performance is based on the ram it has got. So FYI, think of any GPU or IGP as a combination of (ram + processor(core)+ mobo like in CPU), now in IGPs if processor is like Pentium 3, then In a Newer separate GPU's proccy is like newer Quad core(from intel or AMD). difference lies based on the power is has got (tough RAM matters but with a Pentium 3 would you except a performance gain with 6 GB RAM?)

If you are thinking of upgrading then give your current config/total budget. members will give you good advice on what to do .
