Modded PSP 3004.

A friend recently bought a PSP 3004 (modded) from Heera Panna. He bought 5 games along with that for Rs.50/- each.

I went to Andheri (W) branch of Anupam Stationery and asked there. They told me that the modded 3004 is available for Rs.9100/- and to mod a PSP 3000/3004 the cost is Rs.800/-.

Both the incidents left me baffled. I though the 3000/3004 could not be modded.

I checked online and it still can't be modded. How did these guys do it?
 
dood the 3004 (with ofw 5.03 & below) is very much moddable.its a soft mod (if u switch off psp u need to mod it again).
latest cfw for psp 3004 is 5.03 Gen-C.
 
If your firmware is 5.03 or lower, then you can run chicken on it, which in turn would allow you to run custom firmware on the psp that'll allow you to play backed up games

since chicken loads in the RAM of the PSP, when psp is turned off, the mod is wiped off and it has to be redone, although no biggie as it just requires you to run some files on the psp so you can mod it back in less than a minute

PSP with firmware version over 5.03 loaded on it can not be modded as Chicken doesnt run on anything above 5.03 and there is no way yet to downgrade psp 3000 firmware
