modded xbox 360 ARCADE - is it worth it ?

guys i was thinking of ugrading my pc but then my cousins convinced me to buy xbox 360 ARCADE (modded)

~~~why m i going for console ???
well i dont do any other stuff on my PC except gaming n 24x7 DLing. so rather than changing GPU every half year:S m thinking of going for a console instead ...

well i wont be using xbox live so i think its ok to get it modded + with release of jasper series the RRoD:@ as assumed is also less:clap:
m also buying a LCD so any spl. things to look out for n yup
IS MICROSOFT RELEASING ANY NEW LINE-UP GAMING CONSOLES WITHIN YEAR SO ???
n i think a 256mb memory card is also given wats the use of it ??? n is it enough ??

while i wudn't wanna get into a discussion abt the ps3 being better, i say to each his own.

u mite wanna consider a monitor with a hdmi connection for all ur HD needs.
i suggest a minimum of a 24" and recommend samsung T240 for its good blackness(contrast ratio). U can also look at Dell's LED monitor being sold here on TE in the Hot Deals section.

Only thing microsoft is coming out with is project natal which will take atleast a year more.
 
well i'll be getting a 32"lcd tv so i think it will have all bells n whistles for the console . ..

guys i have one more query can RRoD be repaired in grey market ??
 
guys will it be good idea to buy it from US via KMD n then get it modded here ??? any idea how much will it cost me n is there any downside to it ??
 
Ask , KMD and other local retailers , in case nothing works you can always approach me as i can arrange for Brand New Modded Xbox 360 Jasper Consoles.

FPS, for one, would have better experience on PC. RTS titles (if you prefer them), but they are sparsely available on consoles.

well i am a big time fan of FPS games :ohyeah: but budget is wat stopping me from taking the PC route ... is it that i will miss something while playing on consoles :huh: or its just a little i have let go

Graphic customisations & Mouse+Keyboard combo is the only thing you will be missing out on. Rest should be fine.

I would suggest get a Arcade from India & then mod it if you want to. There is an offer at Gaming Indians where it's retailing for Rs. 18,499 along with a 20GB HDD (remove Rs. 499 if you don't want the bundled memory unit). Add around 2k for the modification & you're set within 20k.
 
^pre-modded for 16k? That's great. The official price is Rs.16,990. So you're getting it for much cheaper & that too pre-modded.

Even if you do repair it, there is no guarantee how long it will last. That is one of the major reasons why RRoD warranty on the console is so critical.
 
modded jasper is worth it ...i have one myself ,and if you have a modded one in warranty ,ie all stickers intact, you can just swap the thing when it gets the rrod thing
