Modem & Wireless Router query for MTNL Triband

I am looking to buy an adsl modem & wireless router ( either combo ) or 2 seperate devices for mtnl triband. which is the better option

1. get the modem from mtnl and buy a wireless router ( which one )

2. buy modem & router seperately

2. purchase a combo device. if so, which one... buffalo / netgear

Budget will be 5k for a combo device or 2 to 2.5 k for just the wireless router.

my usage will be for a desktop which will be wired to the devices and laptop in the other room, distance around 50 metres.

will not be flashing to 3rd party.

If you are going in for an unlimited or Combo plan then MTNL will not charge any rent for the ADSL modem+router. So I suggest you go with theirs.

Even otherwise they will charge you only Rs 50/- per month as rent in Mumbai.

If you have to buy one yourself, recognized brand combo device would cost you Rs 3500/- and up while WiFi router alone would be in the 2K range.
