that's my thread and there was no progress.
I figured it was better to borrow from someone who owns a calibration device.
 
People doing colour accurate work don't care much about colour calibration, among those I know. So I assume, colour calibration is a niche even among graphic designers & video editors. They just get a good monitor with at least 100% sRGB or just a Mac & be done with it.

You are right, most people don't care about calibrating their monitor.
But the picture on this ViewSonic monitor is way too saturated.
previously I was using an Acer nitro vg271u and it's color profile was easily available online and I was surprised with the difference that made.
So I think it would be good to calibrate the monitor to get the best it has to offer.
