Hi Guys,

I want to sell my a year old pen. This a pen which was gifted to me by my uncle.

Product name: Mont Blanc Roller Pen.

Guys is as good as a very good pen. I have hardly used couple of times.

If you are planning to purchase you will have to purchase either the refill or you can get the ink for the pen and can refill it. Coz the refill of this pen is over.

Price: I want to sell this for 6k + shipping. If you get the entire refill you can get it for 4k or so.
Not sure about the ink.

Location: Mumbai. people can come at my place and can have a look at the pen.

There is no warranty or as such. This pen was purchase in US.

Note: I am not sure whether this thread should have been posted in this section or something else. Mods: Please close this if i have choosen a wrong section & kindly suggest where should i post this. :) Thanks in advance.
I AM READY TO DO SOME KIND OF TRADE AS WELL. I MEAN I NEED EITHER A CELL PHONE OR SOME GADGET....

Regards,
Anurag Jiwrajka

Sorry for the OTs but,

AFAIK, Mont Blanc has international warranty.

Do you have proof of purchase or gift papers. Do you have the original box and warranty card?

Also, the MB Meisterstuck roller sells for over 15K here, and keep in mind that that is the plain version. For a fancier pen like this, the price is more.

Can you guarantee that this is a genuine Mont Blanc? You will have the serial number around the ring of the pen. Could you also post a pic of that so that an interested party could verify that this is indeed original? The other thing to do would be to have this checked for authenticity at the Mont Blanc boutique.

Thanks a lot for the information. Infact even i dint know so much about this pen.

To answer ur questions. I dont have the bill along with me as it was gift. And it was gifited to me in Feb-2009 So not sure if its under warranty. I dont have the original box also its lost. (I have it somewhere in the drawer will have to search for it but lets consider to be lost as of now)
Yes its an original pen coz i have got it checked from a person who is using Mont Blanc pen. But if you still want i will get it check at the boutique and will update this weekend. :)

Thanks for the information.

@sahil678 : MB's have a 2 year international guarantee against any defects in workmanship.

Most reputed brands (cross, waterman, parker, sheaffer, lamy, pelikan etc) will have a warranty.

@AK3D - tell me 1 thing as u mentioned parker.. I understand cross and all bt even parker has a warranty...??? Dats quite strange.. Coz parker we do it for Rs.100 also the base model. Hehehe.... ;)

@anuragjiwrajka : Not sure about the base models. Parker does have more expensive pens like the Frontier, Sonnet, IM and the very expensive Duofold series. All of those have warranty.

Without the box..and serial no it will be very difficult to prove its genuine copy.I mean ofcourse if one can come to your house and check then its easy.Via net its anybodies game.

I thought i had a mont Blanc Pen that came as a gift pack along with CD and looked quite genuine. IT was when i when to the showroom and gripped the original one( Originals are lot heavy with perfect circle cap )that i came to know.

99% Gifted mont blancs are replicas.

Best luck with the sale. Can you please upload clear images with focus on the pen along with serial no at the cap !!! Trust me interested if its original !

Yes guys even this is very heavy in weight but will cetainly get it checked in Mont Blanc showroom.. So lets wait till this weekend.

^That is a Starwalker (a beautiful pen, I might add :) ) - others have it on the middle ring or even behind the clip, but yeah, post 1991, Mont Blancs are all with serial numbers.

Guys i couldnt find any such number. Not sure whether its an orginal one or not. Bt will certainly get it checked in dis weekend. And will update it to u guys. Or else will close this thread.

Just 1 thing i want to know. How come the refill says Mont Blanc and its different than other pens. I mean u have to roll it to open and stuff like that... Also does the refill contain any sort of serial number..??

Mont Blanc started writing serial no since 1991.So if this Pen was before 1991 it could be genuine. If this Pen is later than 1991 and is without serial no ,than the pen is 100 % replica duplicate.

This should help

Instructions

1. Compare the logo on the outside of the pen with the Montblanc logo from its website (see Resources). Look closely at font and design. Check to be sure the logo appears in the same places on the pen and image from the Montblanc website. Identify the logo on the tip of the nib as Montblanc, as well as one on the top tip of the cap; no matter which of the many styles of Montblanc pen you are authenticating, these are the most common places to find the Montblanc logo.

2. Check the underside of the pen clip for a serial number. A Montblanc pen comes with its own identifying number for reference, varying in length and makeup based on the style, coloring and personalization. Ensure first that a number is present, as some forgeries will neglect to add it. To authenticate a serial number, you have no option but to compare the number with the records at a Montblanc retailer by calling or visiting in person. (See the Montblanc website to located the retailer closest to you.)

3. Familiarize yourself with the varieties of colors, metals, styles, as well as customization options of the Montblanc pen line. Request a catalog while you are visiting the website for a closer look at all the Montblanc pens and a good reference guide. There are hundreds of varieties and personalization options, so forgeries can be difficult to spot.

4.Consider going to a Montblanc store and see the Montblanc fountain pen in person; this is the only method of verification endorsed by the Montblanc company and which ensures 100 percent authenticity.
