Heh nice, i always wanted something like this rather than doing a DIY solution. Keep us updated Eazy.

The BLUE glow from the 8 LEDs on the card is really nice and bright and it is UV reactive too so it would make SUNNY's cables glow fabulously . :)

i dint bother to ask the price. i just saw it at prime.

& i think the fan on full speed is really loud. is it eazy?

By how much ??

I see a difference of about 5C - 7C on HDD CPU and Display card with the additional Pabst 120mm fan runnning @ 7v. A couple of days back I changed this fan to a 90mm fan @ 7v and the Temps went up by about 3C !!
I installed a CM 120mm fan just as u did and my gfx card temp decreased from 72c to 63c, but the temp in CPU droped by only 1C. the max of my CPU is 49 and at very hot condition it somt times reach 50 not more than that.

About the original question.

If amount of air going in is more than the capacity of the fans to throw out the air then it devlopes +ve pressure inside cabinet. This kinda disrupts smooth and proper airflow, sometimes air from certain part of cabinet stays there in this case and +ve pressure means more dust deposition on the components.

If the amount of air thrown out is more than the intake capacity of the intake fan then it does not cause too much adverse effect. the air circulation is smooth. Dust particles does not stick to the components as much. It may or may not improve temperatures depending on the components used and environmental conditions but it definitely reduces amount of dust collection inside the cabinet.

72C drop to 63C = 9C .... thats is GOOD !!

but the CPU is only 1C lower :( .... can you put some padding under one corner of the extra 120mm fan and point the air flow toward the CPU ? I put a tap washer under one corner and it made a difference of 2C to CPU temp.

What about the HDD's ? They are the first hardware to show the temperature change as they get sandwiched between 2 120mm fans.

At full speed its not too loud but the fan gets to a level where you can make out its sound over all the other fans in my case (3 120mm and the Zalman 90mm) - its not that loud really - I keep it up about a third of the way.

If I have the side panel open than the sound of the 2 fans on the fan card at full speed is pretty loud.

I dont keep the fan full speed and I dont keep the side panel open so its fine.

GOOD info FM !! what is your comment on the air flow being the same for intake and exhaust ? I did my own little experiments with thermometers in a case and found that balanced in and out pressures worked best for me.

hmm i havent checked my HDD before installing a fan but now when i checked with speed fan it was at 30c

30C is what I get for my HDDs too... its a nice low temp. I dont understand why your CPU temp is around 50C ..... OH !!! I know why ....its an AMD Toaster .....and.... AMD CPU's run at high temps ... I use a cool P4 2.4C Nothwood CPU which runs at 30C even when O/C to 3.0 !!

^ u suck :P

on my cabby i use 3 exhausts. no intakes. hope u get it ;)

i used 3 exhausts, all sides sealed, 2 5.25 bays opened. put a HDD over threr...air was getting sucked there like mad...it was likr a fan placed infront of HDD, actually no fan at all :ohyeah: the HDD got automatically cooled
