Hello again,

Planning to buy a new motherboard this month end and would need some suggestions on it. The problem is that each day i find a new motherboard which adds to my confusion. I would need anything better than a P35, preferably a P45 chipset. Budget is around 12-13k max.. Another thing is what i want such a motherboard in which resetting a bios is a breeze :ashamed:. Also, i would be overclocking with a water cooling setup in the near future. Wifi is a worthy addon if possible.. All i want is sheer performance with an E8400 with a lot of feature within a budget...
Waiting for all your suggestions so that i can zero in before the 2nd of August :)
Some mobo brands taken into consideration..
1.Asus
2.MSI
3.Gigabyte
4.Dfi
5.Biostar etc...
PS: If possible plz mention the price of the mobo with the suggestions.
TIA

MSI P45 Platinum (Zilent Edition) is good because it comes with a 2K CPU cooler which is quite good. It has all the bells and whistles but lacks the solidity of Asus or Gigabyte. But with CPU Cooler Combo it's a very very attractive offering.

Next is GIGABYTE EP45-DQ6 which is a solid product but little expensive.

Best for you seems to be Asus P5Q-E. It's a fantastic P45 mobo. Catch the review here: CPU3D.com - Asus P5Q-E (P45) Motherboard

But then as people says, Asus after-sale s*x in India.

Actually the P45 DQ6 wont come in his budget.

Pricing on this board is insane, and by insane I mean rubbish and pathetic and aboslutely fked up 21k

I dont know why Distributors of GB are hell bent on not selling their boards in India. Its like they are almost trying hard to make sure people buy other boards.

Here is rough pricing I got for the Gigabyte P45 board. Whats pathetic to is that it exceeds their X48 DQ6 pricing. LMAO.

Gigabyte GAEP 45DS4P = 15400/-

Gigabyte GAEP 45DS3R = 13300/-

Gigabyte GAEP 45DQ6 = 21350/-

I dont know if I should laugh or cry.

^^ right. I was about to edit my post. I checked on various sites , price ranges between $280-320.. Thatz very strange for P45..

I would say, forget about MSI. Get ASUS P5Q-E or P5Q-Deluxe.

Both are good able overclockers and stable boards.

Wait for abit ip45, ip45 pro and max versìons. They are not yet but specs are already in abit's site. Abit has proved itself worthy with p35. Maybe they will do the same for p45.

:O hmm.. now you got me into a dilemma again :| ... Funky.. what about Maximus 2 ? .. is it worth ?
and whats the difference between P5QE and deluxe?

Asus P5Q Deluxe is 16 phase vs 8 phase in P5Q E. Also Deluxe has an SSD for ExpressGate which the E lacks.

16 phase may give you slightly better OC

Asus P5Q E is about 10.2K while the deluxe is about 12k

I am thinking about the same thing, and this part of my upgrade is planned as per my roadmap..
This motherboard upgrade will serve me for atleast 8-10 months before i will put my hands on the nehalems, as when the bloomfields are launched this september - i doubt the prices would be anywhere favourable to our pockets until the mid of 3rd Quarter in 09.. I ve come to a point where ive selected 2 motherboards finally to serve my purpose. I have to choose between Asus P5Q Deluxe/P5QE or Zilent..
Can anyone shed light on Maximus 2 thats come out recently?

I checked some reviews about maximus 2 .. its trailing behind the MSI P45 Platinum as well as the diamond. Albeit, it does better in 3d graphics compared to asus P5Q and deluxe. Thats not much of a concern if the Asus Deluxe fares better than MSI or any equivalent mobos in terms of overclocking to get those figures at par then.. i would go for the Deluxe prices at 12k ??.. what do you guys suggest ? :ashamed:
