Motherboards Dying and I can't find the cause

I had recently bought a gtx 960 oc and an i5 3570 to use in my pc ( upgrading from i3 3240) . But after assembling the pc, after 5-7 days the motherboard would not post a signal , just the cpu fans spinning and the gpu light flashing so I know that it's on.

I tried changing the display ports , removing the gpu and using igpu but still no result.
I thought that the motherboard was old (zebronics h61 motherboard) so I ordered a consistent h61 motherboard. It worked fine for the first 3 days but showed the same results afterwards , i.e, it just wouldn't post a display .

So can anyone inform me the reason this could be happening ? Also the pc was not thermal throttling and reaching a max of 70C ( tjmax being 135 I think ) when emulating yuzu.

Anyways, thanks!

Have you tried troubleshooting the RAM? Insert only 1 DIMM and try all the slots and see if it works in any of them. Then repeat with other DIMMs.

I wouldn't bet on either Zebronics or Consistent having reliable boards, especially for a platform that old. Might just be a dud board. Or might be your PSU killing the board with current spikes. Which PSU do you have in the system?

Follow up what @calvin1719 has just said. if it still doesn't work, then.
Insert both rams together and run the MEME test and check the log.
If the RAM is faulty, you'll get to know about it in the test log.

@calvin1719 thanks for the reply. As for the ram it works on other pcs and replacing the ram doesn't post the display. :(
I have an iball zps 254 ( wattage is 450 watts but I am not too sure as there is no spec sheet and the only info I found is from a sketchy website). I too suspect that the voltage is killing the motherboards.

Are these smps any good ?
Or

Are there any other smps under 800 that you would recommend for i5 3570 , asus gtx 960 oc ,8 gb ram and 2 hdds ?

Also which wattage is good enough for the build ?

@awestor Thanks for the recommendation. I think I will go with a good brand. Also do you think that artis is a good brand for psu ? Otherwise considering to get a corsair

Op what's your budget for getting the system working again? Because I wouldn't recommend buying yet another board for this.

Best thing would be to ditch the platform, because even with a new board and new psu, you'll never know when the board might give out because of bad qc from the brand.

@calvin1719 I am currently saving money for a new laptop but until that I have to have something to code on and occasionally play as my previous laptop's motherboard died. That's why I was asking about the reason for failure for my backup pc.

As for the budget , I have 20k saved up until now and may consider going for a pc build.
What parts do you recommend?

20k is tight for anything new, even assuming you don't need a very powerful CPU, especially since anything you build with new parts is going to have very little resale value. I mention that because you might want to sell off the pc at the time you buy your laptop.

Your best bet would be used parts. There are some good deals that come up in the market section here but you wouldn't have access right now.

However, for new parts, Ryzen 3600 (9k) + board (5k) + 16 GB RAM (3k) + a very basic SSD (1.5-3k) + a coolermaster 450W (3k) = 21.5 - 23k
OR intel 12100f (8k) + board (7k) + everything else = almost the same price

3200G is 7100 so can shave off a couple of k there, along with having the option of not using the GTX 960.

Artis is cheap trash just like zebronics.

Would rank it higher than Zeb, its from same company making VIP, which although not top tier, its not bottom level thrash
@Devon23 where are you located? Would recommend showing this to repair guy. if that too is out of budget, do barebones and put a speaker on mobo and tell us beeps.

Yes, but its of better quality. Can attest, used it. Plus on a budget, I dont think he can do much.
It's luck what saves people in budget zone. I also have a PSU from some random old brand named Beetel (yes, the one which made and still makes landline phones and modems). It looks absolutely like the one from zebronics or intex or circle etc.
It's still rocking to this day. I wonder why, but I have it figured out a bit.

Thing is such components on the cheaper end need absolutely clean and proper power within rated specifications. In India we cannot have a guarantee of no voltage surges or fluctuations. That sometimes damages cheap components. I used the PSU on a UPS which regulates voltage to 230V if input is any higher than 260V or lower than 210V.
Even after all this there will be chances of failure but again it all depends on your luck since there aren't any real guarantees/warranties on such PSUs.

@vivek.krishnan The psu used in my build is rather old. If I had to repair it , that would cost very low but I doubt anyone can fix a bad psu.
I think I'm gonna buy a Cooler Master MWE 450 Watt V2 80 Plus Bronze and ant value 400 watt 80 plus as a backup

Dont waste money on Ant as a backup. Very little likelihood of the cooler master going bad and if it does, then think of getting another.
