Hi..

After looking around the forum...
found these two the best... in my budget 20k........ MAX 22k
Anybody got any other suggestion in this bracket plzz tell..
If anyone can write the pros cons of the above fones that would be great.

These are the things i know.. correct me if im wrong..

milestone has adroid os,looks quite good.. and Wave has the better hardware but bada os..

Im kinda liking the look of milestone more than wave..

but reading about the slower hardware of milestone is scaring me..

Is it possible to install/use Android on Wave... if not yet then in near future.. ????????

Plzz suggest some future proof fone that i wont regret buying now...

Also i have been using N73ME for past 3 yrs so totally new to touch fones...

Finally if i fix either one of them.. need some tips as to what to look out for for buying each of these..
Firmware version or a better colour or a newer batch.. etc etc advanced buying advices.. :cool2:

Appreciate the help..
Thanks..

Go for Legend only if you have android fixation, otherwise Legend is no match for Wave.

Re: HTC Legend .OR. Samsung Wave S8500 or... n also Android help

if u want android then go for Legend else Wave all the way... Wave is sheer beauty both in terms of hardware and display... the display is 480x800 on a 3.3" screen !! thats frigging amazing !! it has got super AMOLED too!!

as for porting android to wave, no on has been able to do it yet... and i am not sure if anyone has made any progress about it either.. so if u do go for wave, go in thinking that u will be with BADA for as long as u have it...

Re: HTC Legend .OR. Samsung Wave S8500 or... n also Android help

I'd have said legend, but after looking at Wave, I'd say go for Wave. TBH, it comes down to what you would use your phone for. I am still looking hard at my requirements and haven't been able to come up with a convincing answer (for self, that is) to go for android based phones, other than umm, them being android os. I'd use my phone as a PMP and a bit of social networking. Internet is a must on the phone and tethering should be possible. For purely these reasons, I'd go with wave because of the SAMOLED screen. As far as apps go, yes, I'll download and install them etc., but in the end, I won't be using all of them. So am still weighing my options :).

Re: HTC Legend .OR. Samsung Wave S8500 or... n also Android help

Among these two I'd definitely pick up Wave :)

Legend's display has no match for it, not to mention the other hardware.

Re: HTC Legend .OR. Samsung Wave S8500 or... n also Android help

Depends on your requirement. If your main use is just calling/texting/browsing then you can go with the Wave. But if you like customization and you enjoy playing around with your phone and want things beyond the basic functionalities (apps/games etc), then go for Legend.

My personal opinion is that Wave = very powerful hardware+ Superb screen wasted on Bada OS

Moto Milestone after price drop.. or the Wave, no to legend!

Re: HTC Legend .OR. Samsung Wave S8500 or... n also Android help

Sathya,
Any particular reason why it would be a no to legend? Umm, as far as the processing power goes, legend is a tad faster and with more RAM than milestone. Again, I am still in the whole soup of figuring out what I need, hence the questions on various cellphones.

Re: HTC Legend .OR. Samsung Wave S8500 or... n also Android help

also consider the HTC wildfire if you need a cheap android phone . its selling for around Rs.15K on flipkart.

Re: HTC Legend .OR. Samsung Wave S8500 or... n also Android help

There's not much noticeable difference in performance b/w the legend and the milestone. Milestone is getting upgrades pretty quick too. The screen is bigger, really nice as well, has a really nice qwerty keypad. If you're ok with the weight then the Milestone at the budget is best! Its built like a tank~... BIG NO to wildfire, res of 240 x 320(thats the E series res and lesser than even the 5800 XM) has issues with quite a few android apps..

Thank you for the reply. Umm, the locked bootloader means no custom ROMs, but it's not something that will bother me. But that brings up the basic question, in that case, why android? I guess I'll have to get my own answer for that. Thanks again :). Appreciate the help.

Re: HTC Legend .OR. Samsung Wave S8500 or... n also Android help

JUST GREAT !!!!!!! Was goona go for the wave... but....

Now im stuck between Wave and Milestone........ what do i do ?????????? what do i do.. ?????

Any phone i buy now , will be used for 4 -5 yrs atleast... so wanna make as good a decision i can make at this point...

Now i need ur advice even more.. Milestone looks quite good too with the metallic body and all.. just the cpu n ram lacking..

Can anyone tell me roughtly the advantages of wave RAM and cpu over Milestones ???

Thnks...

PS- how do edit the title of the thread.. ??

Re: HTC Legend .OR. Samsung Wave S8500 or... n also Android help

Wave has much faster processor. Hardwarewise Wave is miles ahead of milestone. Only thing you have to choose whether Bada is acceptable to you over android. Bada is a new OS and takes time to get apps and games. But since you want to keep for 5 years Bada will be pretty well supported within an year itself.

Re: HTC Legend .OR. Samsung Wave S8500 or... n also Android help

Still confused..........

more advice/ suggestions plzz...

which one is the more future proof option ??????

Wave or milestone ????

PS- using n73 since 3 yrs.. so completely new to the touch fones..

go for wave n hope that android can be ported in year s time

till that time warranty of samsung will also get over

so no issue of voiding warranty lol

^^ Thts exactly wht im thinking..

Im not exactly a Android-o-phile... forget that.. never used a touch fone before..

And if not porting.. atleast there would be a considerable amount of apps for bada hopefully..

Ill most probably go for wave and be future proof atleast hardware wise.. ;)

dude go for legend...android is way better than bada...milestone is out of ur budget

wave is just a glorified featurephone...bada has more or less no 3rd party apps...

and as for porting android to the phone, when u do get an android build for it, some stuff might not work..not recommended
