Motorola Droid Bionic will become the “Mother of all Verizon LTE phones†if Samsung Galaxy S2 will not support LTE.

Apparently, the Droid Bionic was the first dual-core Android tablet expected to tap Verizon’s 4G/LTE network. Long Term Evolution is quickly becoming a popular service (also outside the USA) of the carrier due to its faster data upload and download speed. But when Motorola confirmed via the Wall Street Journal that the Motorola Droid Bionic’s release date is delayed, a lot of rumors followed suit.

Some say the Droid Bionic is delayed because Motorola wants to upgrade the processor of their device from 1GHz to 1.2 GHz (or even higher). That’s actually possible knowing that a lot of devices also upgraded their processors. Sounds familiar? Well, one of the best examples is the recent upgrade of Samsung Galaxy S2′s processing power from 1 GHz to 1.2GHz. Another device that will sport the same processing power is the HTC Sensation of Sprint Wireless.

But the biggest question now is if whether or not the Samsung Galaxy S2 is an LTE-capable device. The Galaxy S2 was not part of the LTE lineup that Verizon Wireless announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Nevada last quarter.

According to the Galaxy S II’s tech specs, the device supports HSPA+ 21Mbps/ HSUPA 5.76Mbps, and no LTE were mentioned. The HSPA+’s max upload speed is 22 Mbit/s only, while the LTE’s peak upload speed is 86.4 Mbit/s. LTE is actually one of the reasons why the HTC Thunderbolt (Verizon’s first LTE phone) received a lot of attention and the sales is pretty decent.

Speaking of the HTC Thunderbolt, the next LTE phone that will hit Verizon’s stores will come from Samsung, the Samsung Droid Charge. Basically, it’s not a dual-core device, but also supports Super AMOLED Plus screen like the Galaxy S2, as well as 8 megapixel camera (rear), and front-facing camera quality of 1.3 megapixel. But still, it’s not a dual-core phone.

Prediction: If the Samsung Galaxy S2 is not an LTE device, then the Motorola Droid Bionic will obviously own the throne as the mother of all Verizon LTE devices (for this year).

In india 21 mbps will last about 2 years or more and with this gen browsing even at 10 mbps will have similar real time speed. Imo assuming that you will upgrade your phone within 1-2 years lte won't matter
