So yesterday i finally went and got myself a new Pc. Everything set up and running fine and then i realise i cant find the driver Cd for the Surfboard Modem that iv got (Provided by hathway internet). I've connected the net now through ethernet but the wire is damaged so the net is really slow. Searched a lot for the drivers online. Would really appreciate it if any of you who have this same modem could either upload the usb drivers for me or else point to a site from which i could get the same!

It is not recommended to connect using USB as any power surge or anything like that can cause serious damage to the pc. Its better you connect it to a separate PCI ethernet card.

I'm also using a Cable ISP and more than 2 times during rainy season the modem itself went dead and once my motherboard also got damaged because it was directly connected to USB. Idk about hathway but my ISP uses electric posts to mount the cables etc and they dont install surge protectors etc everywhere.

Anyway if you really need the drivers you can get it from here

Well i wanted to use the net through USB due to exactly the opposite reason. During the rainy reason, while i was using the net through Ethernet the NIC card on my motherboard blew due to a surge. Was using USB ever since then(2 years+) without a prob. Just got a new system yesterday and couldnt find the USB drivers and hence am on the hunt for them :)
Connected through ethernet and the net works but its really slow as i think the wire may have got damaged over the years of not using it. Plus i find the net is faster through USB! Anyway will try gettin a new ethernet cable and try. Thanks for the reply:)
