PC Peripherals Mousepad for Logitech G5 laser

I currently have a cooler master battlepad strom and i only got this pad to play COD4 online ....i absolutely hate this pad with the G5 playing online...i dont know how to put it but i have to put a lot of effort to make a kill when i snipe (90% of the time i snipe only)...the first few days after i got this mousepad sniping was so easy and effortless then as the days passed the tracking kinda became horrible and i had to put a lot of effort to make a kill . At one point the tracking became so horrible i stopped playing COD online .

Now i want to start again so please recommend me the best mousepad for the G5 laser mouse to play COD4 online.

Budget : less the better

Well these are the option you can look into --
  • Razer Goliathus ~700/- [M size, Control Edition]
  • Roccat Sense ~1100/- [L size, Speed Edition mat]
  • Razer Vespula ~1700/- [L size, hard surface, with control mat on one side and speed on the other]
  • Razer Scarab ~1900/- [L size, crystalline surface said to combine best of Speed and Control]

By the way it is clearly written on the package of the Cooler Master Storm Tactics Pad that it is optimized for optical sensors, first time hearing of this in practice. All products mentioned above are available at flipkart.com.

Here mate, this is a hard-pad a little expensive than your run of the mill products / soft mats but they have a few surprises up their sleeves, like --
  • alternate sides have alternate pad, if one side has control the other will be a speed.
  • Large size, some like it others dislike it. Depends on personal views.
  • Really immobile, once laid on a surface, may OR may not integrate a wrist rest.

A few good examples of hard-mats are --
  • Razer Vespula ~1600/-
  • Razer Ironclad ~2800/-
  • Roccat Alumic ~???

These are available at most major metros and online stores, although the Roccat hard-mat is elusive I have seen it in Bangalore.

The Cooler Master STORM Battlepad and Razer Goliathus are neck-to-neck in most cases Jakob, I am reviewing the Battlepad and it has a few slight advantages but nothing game-changing. I have never used a laser mouse so I am inclined to believe #[member='Sudarshan_SMD'] this count
