Ok guys, I am really stumped at this, just read the review of GA-MA69G-S3H, the Gigabyte 690G which btw retails for just 3.1K and after sales service is bound to be decent as its provided not by our favorite Rashi but by DigiGaga.

Anyway, here are the links

Or if you are too lazy to read

Now what I need is the confirmation that this is the board that is retailing in various places such as NP is the GA-MA69G-S3H; so if anybody going to Np or some place similar can confirm this, I would really appreciate is.

Best Part IMO : It's also got TV Out, a feature lacking in the Jetway 690G board.

Cheers

Well GB low end boards are always priced good in India, so if this does become available, who knows...at 3500-3600 it would be a good deal compared to Jetway

IS this really even retails at 3.1k. IMHO it wont.
And this looses appeal with those looking for HTPCs. mATX is the form factor which rules in this segment.
Should be good board for regular home users on budget. But then again if priced anything above 4-4.5k and whole price performance ratio of going for AMD goes out of window.
BTW keep in mind that you will need to purchase HDMI to DCI converter if you wanna hook it up to your LCD with DVI input. There is no DVI out on the board.

^^yep...I don't think this MA69G-S3H will cost less than 5k here in india....in SG it sells for abt 160-170SG$ so approx 5000 bucks....wud be a good one if priced arnd 4k.

Service is good, at newegg this retails for around 82$ IIRC while the current model available in India retails for some $76 so this may very well get a good price in India if it gets here at all

And yes, this board is not good for HTPC's but its a pretty decent board for desktop use, IMO better then using a Jetway cause of the good after sales service

hey "deepak"..
i suppose you agree with me now..
i told ya de gigabyte 690g board was better than the jetway..
and gigabyte is more prominent..
frankly the first time i heard of 'jetway' ,was from you..

chao..

hehe...well Jetway os an Ok brand, but that's not the point.

If we are to consider India as a market, I'd still say the Jetway is a better board (if u are even half an enthusiast) simply because the one available in India is the S2 model (690V chipset) which is NOT an enthusiast board.

The model I mentioned is the S3 (690G chipset) which as of now is NOT available in India, and as far as I have seen only beaten by Biostar in terms of an enthusiast board.

If however your priorty is not OC'in the Brisbanes and you are not an enthusiast, by all means Gigabyte S2 is a good choice, simply because of their half decent after sales support.

So is the Gigabyte S2 better then the Jetway board in my opinion, it's not.

So no I donot agree with you :P

And brand name isn't everything, people would buy ASUS boards looking at its brandname but it has one of the worst after sales support in India, and as many users in the forum will tell you, Asus QA has realy gone down for low end boards.

Well, u are absolutely right about the ASUS thing.......no driver support for lower models in the a8n-xx series....
well this is a great board.......when do u think it will be available ???

^^ Dunno, hope that it gets here in 1 month, cause I am gonna need it then and with AMD delaying Barcelona I see no *MAJOR* price cuts in the Intel segment, whether for a processor or a mainboard.

dude i was talkin specifically bout the Gigabyte 690G (MA69G-S3H) board..and it's available here in chennai..and i read quite a few reviews on this board and they really recommend this board considering what all it offers for a decent price..i'm not into jetway because it isn't that popular according to me..i didn't even know about the brand..

Dunno abt Delhi, will go to NP one of these days (just a wee bit lazy these days :D) and then check it out...

According to thetoxcmind its available in Chennai though....

FIne ill check in mumbai but are u damn sure it will b ard 4k....since from its manual and features it looks to b a high end board....hope so i get a piece at that price

Well iirc, the S2 which is some $72 on newegg retails for 3.1k in NP

This S3 retails for some $85 so it should be some 4k in India, low end Gigabyte boards are always prices competitively in India....

Do lemme kno if you find it in Mum...

Oh BTW...read Funkys post about needing a HDMI to DVI converter with this board...

thanks......but have a pcie card and also my 710n has d -sub connector if something bad happens to my gfx card...thanks will let u know by monday
