There's great news for all movie buffs of the country! We at Moser Baer Entertainment have recently forayed into an area, which will redefine the very concept of home entertainment in India. The Indian home video market has not grown at the pace that it should have considering the fact that India is the world's largest producer and consumer of films. Rampant piracy, high price of VCDs/DVDs and high fragmentation in this business have unfortunately impacted the home entertainment industry. But that's all about to change, and radically at that with Moser Baer Entertainment!

For starters, we are close to acquiring copyrights/exclusive licenses for more than 7,000 titles in all major Indian languages, which comprises a third of all movies produced till date in India. While we are headquartered in Mumbai - home to our beloved "Bollywood" - we intend to establish a presence across the country in all major metros as well as in smaller towns through an active and well-organized multi-tiered channel. This move will take advantage of the established Moser Baer production capability and a well developed distribution network.

We are releasing video content in DVD and Video CD formats using our proprietary and patented technology which will not only ensure the highest quality standards, but also significantly reduce cost. And that's not all. Our movie titles come with world-class packaging. In short, we intend to revolutionize the "quality-price" concept and offer unprecedented value by offering high quality products at a price, which will delight consumers.

In case you find all this hard to believe, there's more good news in store! All of us have at some time or the other felt the pinch of high prices for original VCDs in the range of Rs.149/- and DVDs at Rs.399/-. Well, you can now kiss those problems associated with owning your own videos goodbye! Moser Baer's fully licensed titles will be available to you at just Rs.28/- for an Indian film VCD and Rs.34/- for an Indian film DVD - price points that we said before, will not just redefine the Rs.650 crore (US$ 150 million) home entertainment business in the country, but also put it on the path to a four- to five-fold growth in the next 3 years. Of this Moser Baer aims to have at least 50 percent market share.

With over 30 Million Home video players already in India, and growing at half a million every month, we expect to sell a popular title in Millions of units, instead of in Lacs of units, which, was happening till now.

To sum it up, our vision is to address the 1 billion people in India with our product offerings. A tall order! Well, just watch us turn this reel dream into a tangible reality soon!

:(

the intention is good but the movies they have for sale are the average ones and not the really good blockbusters, but its a step in the right direction anyway!!

The movies suck..if you wanna spend 30 bucks to watch movies like agneepath then its better give to them to a beggar.

They have been available for quite some time now, however very few of the newer movies are available. And since when does piracy affect movies that were released when your dad was in college? The whole industry needs a combined effort in order to bring in newly released movies to dvd before quick and at reasonable prices. But I agree, this is a small step in the right direction.

i just bought some movies

Prem Agan - this one features hilarious music from anu malik and even more hilarious song and dance sequence featuring meghna kothari and even more hilarious dialouges ... :eye:

Aparadh - this one has feroz khan and mumtaz and helen ..- i bought this cuz i think Mumtaz is cute and helen's dance routines r definately a watch

Love story - my mom likes this movie ... this one has Kumar Gaurav in this .

Faisla - Vinod khanna and Saira banu - she was a hottie then ...

On T series there are some 3 in 1 movies out . for 75 bucks ... the one i bought has Road - manoj bajpai , Kitne door kitne paas - fardeen and First Love letter ( wtf !! ) - *ing Manisha koirala and vivek mushran

On a good note i bought " The Transporter " for 233 bucks ...which is worth every penny ...

On a side note the moserbaer dvd quality in terms of encodes and packaging is really good .

i spoke to the Planet M guys ...they are testing the market ...so they dont have many titles as of yet out there ..but the response that the Planet M guys are recieving is tremendous ...so this may fly off....

34 movies per movie in high quality is good enough .. even if the movie is a bit crap , you wont mind to buy one ...

Neways, for movies, TORRENTS ZINDABAD...:ohyeah:

Hmm... this seems to be having a positive effect on the industry as a whole. I was at a store and some other studio's seem to have slashed prices as well. I saw the dvd of 'Kaho na Pyar hai' for 49 bux. It said on the top 'Eagle Original DVD'. I'm just waiting for some quality English classics to come down to under 100 bux... that would be just great.

Thats one problem with lowering the cost of DVDs, brands like Eagle reprint the movies and the quality beacomes pathetic and sub-standard, worse than watching VCDs.

They need to get hold of distributing rights from major Holly studios, sell the DVD at Rs.100 and VCD's at 50 and then we're talking.
