V for Vendetta

The part where Eve finds the note of a former prisoner, the homosexual female when V imprisons her was depicted sooo beautifully. Besides that, one could find the whole Larkheel incident very touching too.
Of course! This was one of the most memorable movies for me in recent times. It had some really touching moments too. :)

i started to watch "mysterious skin" but it was a little too "inappropriately touching" so fast forwarded thru the thing then deleted it :D

^ Okay, finally found someone who liked Watchmen. :P

Alright, I'm not trying to bash the movie.. but I really didn't see the point! And I've seen all comic based movies before and read most of the comics too like V for Vendetta, 300 etc. But this movie seemed really confusing and badly edited. The graphics were awesome and the visuals superb, but beyond that...

I was surprised by the 8+ rating given to it on IMDB and hence I'm sure that there must be something I missed out. Actually the reviews on this one have been the biggest mystery to me, not forgetting Children of Men.

Can anyone help me out here? :D

PS: I've heard this many times, so I'm being explicit here. I've not read the comic before, but I was hoping that it would not really matter as in 300. ( Or for that matter even Star Trek. Only seen the 2009 movie and nothing else. Now I want to watch the other movies and show of Star Trek too. )

I havent read the Watchmen comics too, but the movie was brilliantly edited according to me, the soundtrack integration was simply superb. The storyline was what captured me, about morally/ethically confused superheroes. The only reason I preferred this over V for Vendetta was the integration of the soundtrack it gave a very surreal feel to the movie.

Dont tell me you didnt like Children of men too ? :P that was another brilliant movie, all these movies have a brilliant storyline.

Somehow I am not too fond of gangster based movies, which mostly everyone likes and hence invariably end up in the top of best movies list. I love well acted movies with very strong story lines ( especially political/ethical dilemma undertones.) Star trek/BSG also try to capture that storyline well, especially the TNG and deep space nine series. The star trek movie was good, but quite different from the series.

See, I got the part where the superheroes were trying to battle demons of their own. The actors were fair to the characters they were playing but the movie seemed to drag on forever. What I had gone to see was something like 300. A storyline that was progressing from the first frame. Here the pace was very uneven. And the climax scene was actually the anti-climax! :P

Guess to each one his own. But I wasted 150 bucks to see it in the theatre and I was very disappointed.

Actually 300 the movie hardly had any storyline..... just some CGI effects put together. Yep as they say to each his own :)

I had to force myself to sit through it and even then I felt as little emotional investment in it as the "superheroes" in featured in it. Even the scenes with Rosarch in prison stunk even compared to any random episode from Oz. It didn't help that half the movie was in slow motion. The only reason I can think of for the movie to get that kind of ratings on imdb is the fanboys of the comics (which I didn't like either).

On the other hand the scene where the get go down the stairs with the baby in CoM and fighting stops for a minute was incredible.

The only movie that ever touched me, now don't laugh, was "Road To Perdition". I can watch this one endlessly. So far in my 20 years of movie watchin' this has been the only one that managed to get me teary-eyed.

transormers 2......I had to take sleeping pills to sleep the night i saw it. It really did touch me in the head.

300, Kung Fu panda(some dialogs), The Dark Knight-I like the joker, HOME-must watch and of course INDIAN (kamal hassan)which has been my favouite- though I cant understand tamil(50/50):bleh:

just watched schindler's list again a couple of days ago. what a beautiful movie it is... still better than almost anything made since.

I watched Watchmen today and I loved it. I wasn't expecting much from it after reading some negative reviews but I was pleasantly surprised at the outcome. I loved the dark and gritty atmosphere of the film. I would give it 8/10.

Also watched "10 things I hate about you" just to see Heath Ledger in action. I Loved it. The movie is your typical high school teen drama, but the presence of ledger makes it special.

I loved this scene in particular, this is one of my favorite songs, what a way to propose :
