I've been driving around in Hyderabad for arnd 4 months (in my Kerala regn Pulsar).. Got caught 7-8 times.. Never asked for road tax (i've got all papers clean).. They asked just for the NOC, which i didnt have for the first two months.. Still got away bribing (it really cheap.. as low as 30bux).. After the first two months got the NOC & after that no probs..

Clean papers means? you have paid the road taxes here and still you have been giving money to those people?? Or you have not paid the taxes but got the NOC only? 'cause 2nd option is good, but I guess NOC is valid for some months(may be 6), check it out. Even when they stop me, they ask for NOC only, then I have to tell them that I have paid the road taxes, so according to the rules NOC is not required :P . Believe me I tell exact words in HINDI. They let me go after that.

Kippu - On a side note, why leaving Kovai, forced upon?

I think its one of the best place to stay

having stayed here the majority of my life , just want to move out plus my i can let my wife pursue her career which is so not possible here

Kippu, what is your budget for the rent?
Miyapur will be your best bet for a 2BHK on a decent budget (around 10k)
but do make sure that the flats have no water problems (they wont, but better
to confirm), there are no electricity problems etc.
KPHB and others are too crowded and will have frequent traffic jams along the connecting
road from JNTU to Hitech city so living on the Miyapur side is the safest bet IMHO (Ave worked for 4 years in Hitech city so know a thing or two abt it :) ).

OMG, leaving beautiful Bharati park in covai are you :P ? it will be hard to find a replacement or anything even remotely close in hyd.

I've driven around Hyderabad for 2 years with a NOC and each time when caught, 50 rs used to do the trick. This was until I was finally flagged down by an RTA inspector ;) ended up paying the road tax along with a fine.

You might also want to confirm if the NOC does have an expiry, because I was told otherwise both by Kerala & Hyd RTA.

As for flats, Miyapur, Chandanagar, Gachibowli are the relatively cheaper options.

yup in 11k you can easily get a 2 BHK appt in MADHAPUR(normally they tell 12k -13k you have to bargain), I live in ayyappa society(1 km from Madhapur petrol pump) rent is 9k for 2BHK

thank you guys for this great help , i think i will be seeing you guys there , i see some 3bhks for 15k negotiable ,, so let me try talking to them and see what i can do , my first trip will be sometime in march ., lots to do till then ....once again , thank you guys for all your help
