mp3 player advice!

looking for a cheap mp3 player. just checked out a few shops and found:
Transcend T610 2GB- Rs.2,850.
Cowon iAudio U2 1GB-Rs.3,000.
sound quality is of more importance than capacity. which should i go for? are there any other options?
 
i got the prices from Croma, Ishanya mall, Pune.
actually my budget is Rs.5,000. of that i have kept Rs.1,000 for the Creative EP-630 earphones,i.e. as soon as i find a pair. anyone know where i can get them in Pune?
OK, so that leaves Rs.4,000 for the mp3 player. any others i should consider other than the Cowon?
 
In terms of sound quality Cowon seems to be good. As johnjjx suggested, you can get creative zen (stone??) if available within you budget.

Its a pity that importers/distris try to sell almost out of production models here in India. But still think, iAudio U2 would be a good buy.

and you can get EP-630 from Phoenix. I think it would cost 790+shipping from him.
 
i do know that the U2 is an old model, but it was rated very highly when it was launched as far as i can remember. plus for 3k i think its a good buy.

@OP: i suggest u extend ur budget a Bit more & invest in this Player,u wont Regret for sure :)

In terms of quadio quality -> Apple>Cowon>Creative.

So cowon over transcend eyes closed
 
did a bit of looking around and realised that there are quite a few mp3 players one can get for less than 4k these days. here's the list:

actually the list is quite long, even though i have eliminated many players which i think are not easily available. and mind you, these are all players from top brands.
now i personally want a player that can support 'drag and drop' (am really irritated with iTunes)for the music files- which i think is not possible with the Apple, Sony and Creative players. so i guess that the Cowon U2 is my best bet. what do you guys think?
 
using T sonic 840 with creative ep 630.. Brilliant sound and very fast UI unlike 6xx series.. Video playback not that great, don't use it for video..lows can be enhanced very nicely using user EQ..
