Now that I have confirmed that the card is compatible with my motherboard & the PSU is enough. The only confusion left is which manufacturer should I opt for? I have heard that the Evga model runs a bit hot.Could someone shed more light on this? Also how critical would that be? How does the 10 year warranty structure work in case of the Evga cards?

Any known issues with the MSI OC edition? How good is this brand in terms of claiming warranty?

One last thing. Can any of the exisiting users for either of these cards, confirm if it bundles the 4-pin to 6-pin PCI-E connector bundled along with it?

I am planning to buy it by this months end & want to know this last bit of details before I finalise on one. Thanks to everyone as always in advance.:hap2:

Get MSI 1 with Zalman VF1000 Cooler, it will run super cool, no need to invest money later in any cooling.

Get this one -

Cheaper, Cooler, and better warranty, Tirupati 1-1 swap.

Oh good! Had almost made up my mind for it but since Evga was touted as "the" brand of all time wanted to clarify a few facts.;)

Any known issues with the MSI models?

^^ Yes, i beleive so.. if not then KMD to the rescue lol :P .. you can order the card from newegg through kmd.. i personally prefer MSI ..maybe cuz i am brand loyal, but it has never given me a problem till now.. been 7 months since i am using the MSI OC edition 8800GT.. ive also overclocked that card to its limits (check my signature). MSI ftw ^^

Beware : The above card is a two slot design, PCI addons will be difficult.

I have the MSI one myself. Keeps the temperature well under control in the heat here. 52 idle and 62 - 64 load.
One known issue is that the fan might at times touch the shroud, and cause a rattling noise, the best thing to do is remove the shroud (only four small screws to be removed, and you can put it back on again if you want to).

^^ 2nd to the Gigabyte....it sells for arnd 11kish nw :D

I though have the MSI 8800GT and it runs very cool :)

Alright then MSI it is.:ohyeah:

Thanks a lot for all your input people.

Check with KMD the price of XFX 8800GT on newegg its just for $170 odd..
Sorry mate would be going for an Indian version.Don't want to bother with all the foreign warranty thing as would not have so much time on hand.No offence to KMD as all his prices seem mouth watering but still I prefer a local warranty.:)

Idle is a bit on a higher side, but on load 70 is still fine, you can lower it by getting a nice cooler.
