Well, MSRP is not equal to MRP.
But hey, Lenovo Y50 have GTX860, and almost same config and is selling for 75K and the price will come down to 74K once it is openly availible in the market.
So, if the original price is anything near to MSRP, it is complete stupidity.
None will spend 2x money for that Steal-series keyboard, when they can get any good steal-series keyboard for 4-5K in the market.[DOUBLEPOST=1407414074][/DOUBLEPOST]
I was expecting them to launch a model for around 60k

Yes. There is no logic for people to go for the laptop.
Seems like MSI isn't interested in India at all. :/

MSI should just go charity stripes with that kind of pricing and go home. Please do understand that this is a premium ultrabook gaming laptop, current competitors of Razor Blade and Auros are not even available in India.

Please compare the right models before claiming that MSI is pricing is too high for GS60. Clearly, Y50 competitor is GE60. Then we can start the right discussion for comparison.

Y50 @Rs.75K in India (http://www.thedostore.com/ideapad-y50.html) is downgraded to meet that price point. Look at how they are cheating people! With whatever price it is, you will get a corresponding quality for it, that is second class. MSI is not following them to offer something like that.

I am not complaning that they have priced it higher i am complaining that i have a very low budget

Thank you for the right opinion! Hope everyone realize that MSI is serious in coming back and it hurts our feelings with all these pricing complaints because we bring the best without any compromise to India.

Hi Rhyansy,

So ... by when can we expect the MSI GE series to start selling in the Indian market ?
And what will be the provided configuration with it.

MSI rep put:
1. Crying smiley to Lenovo spec as it didn't have the 'wide-angle' phrase in their spaces.
2. Crying smiley for 1TB HDD as it is 5400rpm in Y50. Mate, there is 0 practical difference between 5400 and 7200rpm HDDs apart from more heat generation.
You run 7200rpm HDD in hot, humid weather inside a laptop which do not have direct cooling to HDD slot. Well, may the god save you.
3. Crying smiley for LAN spaces? Mate, practically, we don't even need the speed of 802.11ac. Not only in India but not a single place in the world have publicly available inernet which can utilize bandwidth of 802.11ac or any gigabit Ethernet.
4. Crying smiley for keyboard? Good point. Keep your finger crossed and expect some show-off kids, will buy this laptop only for that multicolor back-lit Steelseries keyboard.

As I have said already:
None will spend 2x money for that Steal-series keyboard, when they can get any good steal-series keyboard for 4-5K in the market.
Only good difference is GPU. But paying 2x more only for that?
Most people in India won't.

Over to GE/GP60 series.

Anyway as poined out to me by another fellow member, I should add another laptop model, Asus G750 and its current pricing.
Everyone can see it in flipkart I think :D

P.S> reply not to be taken as aggressive reply. It is point to point discussion only
If you don't like my post, shoot me a PM and also feel free to delete the post. ;)

The second model seems like the best value. Is this a kepler 860m or a maxwell 860m?
If its the same one like the GE then its probably Maxwell.
@rhyansy I think you forgot something which I said long ago. Indians will not buy what they don't need. To them VFM is everything so you see people buying standard laptops with GT650, GT750 etc (just to name a few) even though "gaming" laptops offer better features (and may use the same or equivalent videocard) but they do at a higher costs which puts off potential buyers. This is why many Indians go for Lenovo laptops which seem to the only company bringing the best specs at a very competitive price even they compromise on other areas and which is IMO a very smart move for business. You have much to learn to about the Indian market.
If you think that what MSI does in USA will work in India then I'm afraid you might go bankrupt here. True that MSI gaming laptops focus on performance but its India which we are talking about here.

PS: OT do you ppl know why Micromax just took the top spot in the mobile market here? One word: Indians. :p

And oh any idea when the GE series will be launched here? expected price of the GE60 Apache 003?

dude why do you even need a 6GB of card memory? External monitor?

Here's why:

- 4GB is insufficient for few games at 1080p @ 40 - 50 fps. Especially, the ones I play (and yes, X-Plane will need additional monitors) http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-870M.107792.0.html

- 6 GB will be the norm in about 1 to 2 years - especially with 3K & 4K res. on the rise. Graphic cards in laptops aren't upgradable, and I don't want to spend $ 2K every couple of years.

- Makes sense to spend additional 20-25% and get a 6 GB laptop.

We're doing the top-down approach, announcing high-end first is not wrong because putting your lowest end product will only give the brand an cheap image. Look at how Acer was stuck being a cheap brand because it's positioned as a cheap brand? Although it wanted to climb the image ladder, it cannot. Top-down approach is employed in most cases. The mid-series GE/GP will be released soon as it's still being approved in the BIS certification. GS60 came first because this is our flagship ultrabook gaming laptop.

GT72 is the only one in our plan to be released in the next few months after GE60/GP60 in India. Hope this answers this query.

You are not wrong. :p
