CPU/Mobo MSI RS480M2 Motherboard Info needed

Edit: If your buying a panel for gaming, instead get a CRT. But then again you said no gaming then why this panel .

lol.. it's precisely bcoz i am non gamer that i am considering a LCD. If you spend long hrs reading docs on a CRT ull know. The LCD's are much more easier on the eyes and are more elegant.

Yes, in that respect my choice of a 8ms response time Samsung may not appear to be a good idea. But trust me i looked at many entry level 19" LCD's (viewsonic, LG , BENQ and philips) and the Samsung one beat the crap out of them..And yes ,while it may be the cheapest Samsung 19" -it's certainly Not the cheapest LCD..
SO for the money it's good value. For those who can get it from abroad- Dell Ultrasharp 1905 FP is a very good option..
I have used my friends' 710N and it rocks! it's better than the Dell, Benq , Viewsonic monitors with DVI also. Samsung monitors offer a very good brightness and contrast ratio..

theres quite a lot of difference beween dvi and analog inputs. after using dvi my analog lg looks washed out and the text looks all blurry ! maybe if you haven't used dvi you may not see any difference but after using dvi for so long theres definitely a diff looking at an analog display

Yes it might be so. But i cud not find any perceptible difference in the Samsung 710N and Samsung 710T both with identical specs except DVI i/p(or the lack of it)..

This discussion moved on to TFT's i guess..:)

I was hoping if someone cud tell me whether i can save some money on the external sound card with the MSI Rs480 mobo in case it does not make much of a difference using a entry level 5.1 speaker system.

I don't plan to use very sophisticated speaker system(atleast for now)..Presently Will use the Altec VS 3151 5.1

Will there be discernible difference in the sound quality of the MSI RS480M2 mobo's ACL 650 5.1 audio viz a viz the 8 channel ACL 850 of the newer mobos or an external sound card.

Thanks,

There'll be a huge diff between onboard audio and addin sound card. There won't be any difference between alc850 and alc650.

Egg-jhactly :ohyeah:

althou they giv diff specs which look good, but there's no real diff in those modules......ONLY the alc880 if u find it onboard nywhr rite now, but b a tad better......just a tad thou....

get a SB 24 bit live :cool2:

Sound will be much more crisper, the boom will be tighter, no echoing at least with the good speakers. Sound blaster live for 2k is a good deal, if you can get it.
