hi guys

i am planning to subscribe to mtnl broadband at home. i dual boot windows xp, and ubuntu linux.

i would like to know if i would be able to configure & run mtnl broadband in Linux without any hassles.

Last time i had great problems in setting up Hathway & sify broadband on Linux (as these guys usually don't know about Linux configuration).

It would be really helpful for me if someone could guide me in this regard.

pretty simple...
the router will hav an ethernet port..
dont think the USB link will work..
but ethernet will definitely work..

thanks for replying guys....

i would like to know one thing more...which router should i opt for....? should i take it on rent from mtnl or buy one myself?

BB that needs dialer to connect has some issue with Linux while BB that comes with feature plug and surf works flawlessly with Linux.. I guess MTNL has plug & surf feature :)

yup if u have pppoe mode in ur router it'll work by default. just keep the router on while installing ubuntu and let it detect it.
