Dell XPS studio 16 is the best bet without any doubt....

According to this site ,results for gaming are not really impressive----

Notebookcheck: Review Dell Studio XPS 16 Notebook

GTA IV - Grand Theft Auto

Whether this game, which even exceeds Crysis demands on hardware, can be run in any way, will be available her in short. So, stay tuned.

- Well, after a test of the benchmark integrated in this game, we have to disappoint you. On minimum settings (800x600, everything on low), just 20.66 fps were reached. Even in practice we could not enjoy the game because of the permanent stuttering.

Verdict: The ATI Mobility Radeon HD3670 graphic card is simply too weak for running contemporary games with a resolution and detail level necessary for a convenient look. Although it is mostly possible to play at all, you need to use the lowest resolution and detail level. So, the optical result is limited anyway. A fact, which unfortunately even a first-class full-HD RGB panel cannot change. What a pity!

Till Now ,In this thread ,,These are the Result--

1. hp dv6 1211

2. Dell Studio 15 with i7 processor

3. Pavilion DV6-1256TX

4. Dell XPS Studio

NOW???

See Guys,,It will be one time deal for me ,, After purchasing Any laptop i cant think about another one again...So plz let me know ,If we will compare all these Laps,,Which will be good for me,,,

Again i am repeating,,,GTA4 ,RE5 and similar games are must to run on lappy,Not a problem in low or medium resolution but with no lags,

Apart from that I need good processor(if not the fastest but should be high end) for rendering Videos in After Effect,3DS MAX,MAYA,

Should Be connect-able To tv Through HDMI and vga

FingerPrint Reader,And such features are not important.......

GTA4 will not run in any current dell model(with ATI 4570)!!!!! Though if it is important deal for you so maybe you can wait..probably Dell India will introduce ATI 4670 GPUs for their XPS models in sometime. they have already introduced it in the east. Maybe you can send a mail to dell india asking whether they will be including 4670 in their XPS studio models in near future. though expect the price to be close to 65k for those models. Or else get the what I have suggested :P ..

Dude It's a comparison for gaming/multimedia laptop. No doubt XPS 16 falls in this catagory. But see the GFX man. HD3670 is way too much lower GFX then HD4650, even it's lower then HD4570.

I dont need to tell you that GFX is a key when it comes to game. You must know that.

And On the other side see the budget of a guy. It's below 50K. And Studio XPS 16 starts from 65K IMO. Even XPS 13 starts from 59K

No offense to you my friend, but studio 16 is bad choice even when budget is above 60K.

@Thread Starter

1) Pavilion DV6-1256TX or 2)hp dv6 1211ax

Choose between DV6 models. I can't say which one to choose coz I am not having up-to-date info about the comparison between T6600 and AMD turion 2.2 GHz

And If DV6 1256tx is available in India(Coz I couldn't find it on HP India web site)

then IMHO go with it. (Intel would be favorable for graphics editing, may be)

yes man...I was confused...:S....
you are indeed correct.... HD4650 is far better than 3670, but 4570 is not better....

I came across a friends laptop by accident , excellent config for budget laptop gaming. Its a Lenovo Y550 he bought it for 55k or so. Gpu on it is a GT130 its better than a 9600 or is a rebadged 9600.

Specs are exactly the same as the following.

Newegg.com - lenovo IdeaPad Y550 (41865BU) NoteBook Intel Core 2 Duo T6500(2.10GHz) 15.6" Wide XGA 4GB Memory 320GB HDD 5400rpm Dual layer DVD Burner NVIDIA GeForce GT 130M - Laptops / Notebooks

Its quite nice for gaming, plays Hawx in DX10 mode at 1366 x 768 (native rez of the screen) and Grid also both games with full settings and constant 30-40 fps.

I think its a very balanced laptop and with a processor upgrade would be a better option than any mentioned here.

The whole system scored 6300 odd in 3dm06 OS was vista.

Don't go for HP yaar. Especially when going for high end laptops, don't ever think of HP. Check here and read the full story. Then you won't go for HP, for SURE! HP Customer Care Horror - Koshy John

Also Studio XPS is very good yaar. If your relatives are in US or UK, you can ask them to buy it for you. For students, Dell is offering a 7% discount. So, that will do fine..

what abt HP Pavilion DV6-1260SE
HP Pavilion DV6-1361SB
Is it avail in india????

No IMO not available. Also. Did you see the configs of both the laptops that, you have written over here? (If not, then please google it and check out the configs) IF not then kindly try to compare these 2 laptops with 1211ax and 1256TX. You yourself will be able to decide which one to go for.

BTW according to your budget, 1211ax and 1256tx are excellent suggestions for you IN MY HUMBLE OPINION.

It must be a terrible experience for him. Indeed.
No offense but how can you jump on to one decision from this?

1) High end laptop? The guy's talking about 40K-50K laptop. Can you get any high end laptop in 40-50K budget from entire world?
And IMO, There's no high end laptop available in HP Pavilion series in entire world. Check even US/UK web-site. All HP Home and Home office series laptops would come under MID-END Laptops.

2) about Studio XPS 16 and Studio 15 laptops, check out these posts over here at TE

http://www.techenclave.com/laptops/gaming-laptop-for-50k-138502-3.html

People have bad experience too with these laptops. In-fact you will find lots of cases for studio 15.

3) Notebookcheck: Review Dell Studio XPS 16 Notebook

Review of studio XPS 16 by one of the popular websites. Kindly read the comments at the end.

4) In the same manner people have and had Bad experiences too with HP. So I should not go with HP as well.
There's no sole brand in this world which is issue free.

5)AFAIK there's is no issue with DV6 right now, and people here also have given good reviews.including me.

And according to the budget(40K-50K) and purpose(Multimedia/gaming) of thread starter here, clearly, it's better to go with HP DV6 series. NOT WITH STUDIO XPS 16 @65K :P

THANKS for suggestion ,,according to few websites, dell 16 xps having heating problem, and after spending so much money ,this lappy cant fulfill gaming satisfaction.

:( Guys Now i am ready to spend 60k also for good HD gaming and high processor.

Update: CAll dell guys and ask for NEW Studio 17 Price.

Check out specs : Dell Studio 17 Laptop

If it's below 60K or 65K then surely go with it. IT's a new kid in the town. And having excellent config. Plus Core i7 processor.

Otherwise Go with DV6 Pavilion DV6-1256TX

Dell laptop with i7 processor are having some overheating issues....still it is undergoing engineering tests and we may have to wait a bit longer to get them...

I was informed the same by Dell rep regarding the Studio 15 laptop with i7 processor...
