Next to the station you see these guys selling 6 in 1 movie dvds sometimes even 9 in 1 movies. How do they do it?

I tried converting TL*R trilogy each movie 1.36 gb big and consists of 2 avi files into 1 dvd using winavi but failed. Everytime it makes more than 1 dvd. That too after 3 and a half hours :@ .

Can anyone tell me how to do it? I read the tutorial for dvd shrink, seems a bit complicated. Also dvd shrink leads to quality loss.

Please Help.

Ok remember nxt time u take the DVD from whicheva STATION 1st chk its size {GB}cause now dey sell 8GB dvd's too which has around 6-7 films ....

--

divx really cool format just get a divx+dvd player damm cheap arnd 3,000 bucks only and watch divx movies which are just 700MB .....

prabs, dvd movies can be mpeg-1 too. so in that case you can easily fit 2 movies on a single dvd. three movies may b possible, depends of the length.

i hav converted xvid->vcd in the past, using a software called TMPGEnc. once u get mpeg-1 files, u can use any dvd authoring software to create a dvd movie. this dvd can be played on any standalone dvd player.

most of these 6in1 dvds are dual layer ones ( of size approx

7-8gb)..and quality is terrible to say the least.

what they do is decrypt the original dvd and recompress to 1:6/1:8 th of original size using some encoding tool and then combine all the mvies together using some other software. Too painful a process i guess.

Besides, dual layer disks are not easily available and ain't cheap too. Better option is to write the divx files directly without any conversion and all. u can fit arnd 6 movies of 700mb size into a single layer disk. Then using a divx compatible dvd player u can get them to play on ur tv.

My current dvd player is only 2 years old. Back then the only divx player was from Mitashi and I told my dad not to buy it 'cause I didn't like mitashi. Now he ain't gonna replace that dvd player so the option of new dvd divx player doesn't exist for me. So I am stuck with converting and watching.

The worst part is I took my portable HDD that contained all 52 episodes of GITS to my friends place and his new dvd player automatically detected the files and started playing them. Talk about rubbing salt on fresh wound.

Now tell us what brand is your friend DVD player that you used with usb port!!??

^ I know I am asking for too much

But if you can manage just get the model no of sony and possible priceyour friend paid

I ahve seen Philips with usb function at my uncles place but that is only for ausio files not vedios and I have seen on sony website about the usb vedio thing but I think that it was part of hometheatre system and not stand alone DVD player .

That will be a bit odd.

But neverthless we saw it at Malad Cromas and that is where he brought it from later on. The cost was Rs.4790/-. So you can be sure that it is around Rs.4500/- now. There were 2 variations - 1 with recording feature and this one had no recording feature. The one with recording feature was priced at Rs.15000/-. In this you can't play mp4 files. That is about all I know.

Nowadays these features are now available even on the LG dvd players.

I'll try and get the model no. Let you know on Tuesday or late in Monday night.

Sorry my mistake  . The player is not a sony dvd player but a philips dvd player. The model is: DVP 5965K DVD PLAYER. The cost is Rs.4790/- as I mentioned before. Available at Croma.

Dude, these roadside DVDs are jam packed with movies, but their quality is worst than CD i.e. low bit-rate, no sharpness, faded colors :@

I happened to use a software earlier (don't remember the name now) to write some home videos to DVDs and it had an option to automatically adjust the bit-rate to accomodate a DVD-5 or DVD-9. I had crammed many videos in a DVD-5 but when I played it, the quality was terrible (like watching a youtube video :( )

The MPEG-2 codec is meant for higher bit-rates and hence big sized files. That's why DivX and XviD codecs are used...
It will be much better to watch DivX movies on a small monitor than watch bad MPEG-2 on a big TV...

Thanks Buddy!

Your efforts totally Appreciated :)

I just went to check out the Philips 5965 and it refused to display more than the first movie on my dvd. I had 4 movies on 1 dvd. Any one knows why?

Sorry :( , can't help you with that mate.

for multi session DVD's, only the movies written in the first session are visible on the DVD player.

the content of the subsequent sessions is not displayed.

(Nero shows a warning as well when you write a multisession DVD)
