Mumbai: Mumbai airport has been ranked fourth in the world for offering best quality services in the category of airports handling 1.5 crore to 2.5 crore passengers per year. It has come to this position by beating international airports of San Francisco and Zurich. The Airport Council International (ACI) that conducts audits on airports awarded the rank.

Apart from the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Indira Gandhi International airport in Delhi is the only other Indian airport eligible to qualify in the category. Seoul's Gimpo International Airport, Vancouver and Taipei airport in China are three airports which have surpassed Mumbai's airport standard.

Airport officials feel enhancement of terminal infrastructure and etiquette training of staff are certainly some of the reasons for upgrading the standard of the airport.

I think Hyderabad >> Mumbai. What an incredible airport. Though I'd love to check out Delhi's T3, heard its the shizzle!

Never been there, but how credible is this? Delhi just got a very world-class level terminal this month, Manmohan said Mumbai airport is next for improvements.

Delhi Airport handles 2.56 crore passengers and hence not in the same category as Mumbai. There are no other Indian airports that handle between 1.5-2.5 crore passengers. Also, the worlds top 30 busiest airports handle more than 3 crore passengers/year. With most of the good airports already out of contention, Im not surprised that Mumbai is ranked 4th.

This is a stupid headline.

fake report imo ....even in asia it wont come in top 10
why so?

because it is in india?

btw it is about

Mumbai airport has been ranked fourth in the world for offering best quality services

which may be true for the concerned matter.

hahahahahahahahah is it that nothing good can be related to INDIA, if something good then false report ????????

SARCASM, WELCOME TO INDIA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

someone did say that, " terrorists hate the Americans, Indians hate each other" so freaking true !

According to the same report - New Delhi ranks the best (1st) airport in the world.

Among all the airports handling between 2.56-2.57 crore passengers/year.

see, just as i said, Indians hate each other, all i was doing was passing an info & not competing, i am equally supportive like any Indian for even a baron piece of land in any part of INDIA where a plane can safely land & take off.

i never mentioned its in india thts why its not best :).....when we talk about ranking comparison is obvious n in that comparison CSIA lag behind :)

I haven't been to south, but I've been to Delhi airport and I've been to Mumbai airport... and Mumbai airport has the most systematic operation between the two. Delhi airport is serious PITA, while the experience is way smoother on Mumbai airport. Barring the leeches called custom officers, the overall operations on Mumbai airport run in very systematic and organized manner. So if the ranking is done on service quality basis, then I don't doubt it's far off the mark or false.

As for Banglone and Hyd, well my friends there don't have much positive things to say about those two... :P

Had gone to Delhi recently. Delhi airport is simply amazing now. Can easily spend 2-3 hours there. So much to do :P
