The tricky thing with doing this is matching the toonz to the action. This should be the aim rather than whether the tune is cool or not because many times stuff you like does not work at all and vice versa.

Do lyrics help here or not ?

So long as they don't draw attention away from the runway.

The only way is to have a video of the models walking and then experimenting with the music playing in the background to find out what works.

Or you could use youtube and see how others did it :)

Deep House/ a bit of Retro is apparently the de facto standard for fashion shows but it fairly depends on the Dj doing that. Personally i go with deep house and bit of edgy tech house. Pop in a mixed CD and you are done

Like your opener, gets more electronic towards the end of that clip, will pull the mix :)

Freerange's output from a few yrs back was top notch, seems to have tanked slightly recently. The genre's in flux and sometimes get the feeling its past its date but I can never get tired of the vibes. The older stuff still rocks.

He needs to check this with a vid of the models doing their thing, maybe film the rehersal and then pick & mix. A live set will anyday be better than a cd.
 
Since it would be an Indian/asian Bridal fashion show, i was thinking something on the lines of indian music....i got a nice remix of Karunesh-Punjab and liked Faithless by Buddha bar.... need something which shows Asian/Indian influence
