Audio Music system for Dad

Hi,
My dad asked me for recommendations on a music system for home. I'm not much of a audiophile and have no idea where to begin.
We don't want a 4-5 multi-speaker setup, I think they're called home theaters ?

Something which is more compact / takes less space. Could be a single tower or a smaller device.

Requirements:
- Bluetooth, I guess
- Aux for direct playback
- Some bass, dad wants it !
- Some "khanak" don't even know the corresponding english word for it :)

Don't know what else should be a minimum requirement.

Can someone help me out here ?

You can go with 2.1 from any of the well known brands or a soundbar and woofer combo (I see a few from Samsung in that price range).
Better would be take your father to a nearby store and get some audition within your budget.

I see, do you also have any specific recommendations in terms of brands or features that I should look out for ?

Go for the usual suspects in your budget - Samsung, LG, JBL
Obage makes some decent 2.1s
Whatever you select, ensure you get a sub.
Personally I would avoid the likes of Moto, Philips, Govo, Boat, Ship, or the likes.
Features would be based on what you need

These might be better than mainstream brands recommended to you here. You can read or watch reviews. I would completely avoid soundbars for any music. Physics is not with soundbars because of their small size. Moreover stereo effect is completely missing in soundbars. The only think you might miss is loud bass. But, once you hear quality, quantity becomes worthless at the expense of quality.

You can try these. These look great but don’t have Bluetooth and might get dirty very quickly

In case others may suggest otherwise, I do have the experience of using a soundbar with a sub as a home theater. They are perfect for all kinds of listening like movies, songs, music etc. The sub takes care of the lows quite well. Not many realise that sound bars have come a long way. But you would not go wrong with a 2.1 either.
Since it is for your father, I would suggest going with a mainstream brand for peace of mind when it comes to after sales service.
However, as suggested earlier please do take your dad to audition it instead of just going by suggestions here. You would never know until he listens to one.
