Guys,

I own a 09 p220 dtsi. Now the problem here is that my bike hates rains and in rains I hate my bike. The reason being that my bike gulps water during rains and I haven't found a solution to it till date.

I love riding in the rains but this issue always spoils my ride. And all I am doing in the rains is draining water from the carb.

Guys if anyone knows a solution, kindly let me know.

PS: have cleaned the drain hole near the fuel tank nob. Also ensured that I fill fuel from one fuel station itself. Had applied plastic bag, but it creates vacuum and you know the rest.

The seal is broken. Stop going juggad with the plastic bag and get the cap and seal replaced.

Ok, a sure fire way to know if your seal is broken is if the mileage drops or if petrol spills when you have a fall.

I asked the bajaj guys and they don't assure me that replacing the cap will fix the issue. Will try it though.

I have a 07 P150 UG3 and I have never had an issue with the water in the carb!

I always get a PVC Plastic chain cover fixed on the fuel cap just before the rains. It costs about 25 rupees and you can fix it yourself if you have the right allen key for opening the fuel cap.

As the cover has a chain, it is not airtight and hence does not create any vacuum. Try it out this monsoons... it works.

I too had a 06 model ug3 and it never gave me any problems whatsoever. I love it. Sold it as it met with an accident, all thanks to my friend.

Bro, i always apply those plastic coverings and nothing seems to work ever. It does reduce the draining intervals that i have to do all rains though. Very annoying.

Weird, I have 07 P220 Fi and never faced this issue till date... Get the seal changed as hahahari said, might solve your problem...
